pepperP: “Fabulous decor. Very attractive and relaxing. Amazing atmosphere, staff were over whelming. To top it up with all of that, the food was mind blowing. Have to say, what a great job they are doing. Will definitely return, and is highly recommended!” more...

Food is great - I can’t say for certain because I’ve never been to India but it seems authentic flavour and is certainly appetising. I’d recommend the chilli iddly. Together with a dosa that’ll set you back about £5. And seriously folks, if you pay that for a really tasty, healthy meal - what more would do you expect?
There are some branches that serve meat as well, but although I’m not a veggie, I stick with the veggie ones. Two reasons. First, they are the best flavour. Second, less chance of a dodgy stomach afterwards.
If you like Indian food you really must try this place at least once.
The first restaurant in what has now become a 6-outlet London chain, I first went here at the urging of a South Indian friend who claimed it had the best Tamil food in the city.
It was indeed excellent. The menu is varied, and the food was delicious and insanely cheap. We had a reserved table for a Monday night, and it’s a good thing. There are huge queues on the weekends, apparently.
It’s definitely no-frills, a bit crowded and well-worn. Don’t expect top-end service. But it’s cheap, very, very cheap. It’s like an Indian eatery has just been dropped into east London.
I had pongal for the first time, and it was probably my favourite thing I tried. But the masala dosa, mixed oothappam, and mini idly were all freakin’ good, too. Washed down with some watermelon juice, and with some sticky-sweet dessert ball to finish, I left the best value-for-money restaurant meal I’ve ever had.

This place has an appauling atmosphere and horrid service but serves delicious food. I recommend the Dosa's and the chutneys. The food is so cheap, worryingly cheap but i suppose this is compensated by the appauling service. The owner is obviously cutting as many corners as possible, for example hiring poorly trained staff, giving knifes and forkes only on request and using mostly plastic cups. This place should only be visited as a last resort or when you have little money.
