The Mall

This place has gone down so much over the past 5-10 years. Most the big name shops have been taken over by Eastern European shops. I remember growing up to sports shops like Cobra Sports, First Sport, Inter Sport and Olympus Sports. Now they only have Sports Direct on the second floor which is a mess and would not even go in there if someone paid me!!

The Exchange is actually in Ilford and not Seven Kings as stated above.

It used to be a very nice Mall with an interesting variety of shops but has gone down hill in that respect.

On the plus side it feels like a safe environment as security quickly gets on to any trouble.

On the negative side the music that is played in here is usually aggressively loud and annoying. I know many people who have complained about it but each of them has been told that they are the only person who has ever complained!

The manager should listen to people a bit more. What's the point of annoying potential customers in a recession?

the exchange mall is great! is has everything you could wish for and thats a fact! sooo many great shops inside one place its amazing and the mall is always clean and looking superb

This place has gone down hill over the last couple of years, but that would be economy related (shop closures etc). I look forward to The Mall picking up to match all the new development in the area - won't be long (I hope)

This Mall has gone down hill in recent years!! I used to shop here all the time but now it seems that all there are are pound shops everywhere!! Don’t get me wrong pound shops are useful for little bits and pieces but there’s so many in Ilford!!!

The food court used to be quite nice with an indian, american grill, chinese, jackets potatoes, coffee shop etc but now I think they’ve pretty much all gone too… Alot of the women’s fashion shops have gone and there is generally a very limited variety of shops. It’s not too bad if you know what you want and what shop to get it from but if you just want to do some shopping I would go to Romford!

As you’ll see written in most reviews, the mall has changed a lot. It is still worth checking out as there are still a few worthy shops, such as perfume shop.

Recommended, but only just!

Not sure what has happened to all the shops that used to be there. A few unusual ones but nothing great. A floor dedicated to eating tho with a good choice

The Mall used to be busting with great shops, but in the last few years so many of the shops has closed - such as Topshop, Miss Selfridge…

They have been either replaced or left empty. There really is hardly anything worth going there for now. There is much more choice in Romford which is about 15 mins drive.

This mall is ok but it has very basic shops, there is not a wide variety of shops. Good for just small shopping, its clean, can be busy at times.

To be honest, I’m not a fan of the Mall, there always seems to be loads of kids playing on the escalors and lifts, the shops are not anything special, even Debenhams (better to go to Oxford Street!)
The toilets are way behind the food court, although the ladies (can’t comment on the gents) have loads of cubicles, there’s only one disabled loo.

In my opinion, the mall has gone down hill in the last few years. As mentioned in other reviews, what could be considered quality shops have been replaced by cheaper versions and that seems to be the way for the whole area to be honest.

Although they do still have some decent shops and you should be able to find soemthing you need, but alot of changes which isnt always for the best has happened here.

Car parking is also a bit short, seeing as car valeting has seemed to taken over a number of levels!

It is quite clean though, but to be honest i only ever go into ilford if i really have to. I do not think it is a very safe place in my opinion and the people are quite rude.

Well the mall has changed a lot over the years. More shops have been put in and others have been replaced. For the girls there is fashion (clothes shoes and jewellery), for the guys theres electrons (sorry to stereotype) and for the family is debenams the department store which meets nearly every persons needs. Though I was gutted that topshop and miss selfridges were both replaced with cheap tacky shops called risky!! I hope that the quality of the shops does not discrease or people in need of specific things will have to go further out in order to get them. It is family friendly, large groups of people are moved on in order for no one to feel intimidated or penalised.

The Mall in Ilford is a family friendly place to shop and socialise. With 78 stores including large departmental stores it i an ideal place to shop and caters for all your shopping needs. There is also a large food court area on the top floor offering fast food, ideal for a quick meal in between shopping or a light social lunch. It is an ideal place to shop if you live nearby and offers shoppers a safe environment.
