The old chinawhite nightclub london had a number of "suites" with soft, bed-like lounging areas. including a "VIP suite" which gained notoriety in the British press over the years. It became a well known club attended by Premier League footballers, so-called "WAGs" and young people in the entertainment industry. Kate Moss, Lindsay Lohan, Lilly Allen, Sarah Harding, Callum Best and Lee Ryan are names well connected with the club
The suites at Chinawhite Nightclub were noted for their lavish furnishings and were known to be very expensive. Exclusive membership was often priced at £700 for a year. Over the years numerous music acts performed at the venue.
I do enjoy going clubbing at the new chinawhite however it will alaways be compared to the original and much like micheal jacksons thriller album it is impossible to beat.

I was a regular at the old spot on Air Street and I will never forget those unforgettable nights of vodka cranberry and party....but its time has come and gone. This reincarnation is frankly a bit boring and the old hedonism of the chinas lifestyle is gone. Yaaawn! Just another West End theme bar that celebs "used" to visit.

What a fantastic club in London!
The atmosphere was really amazing, the DJs were so great. I've spent one of my most amazing nights in London.

Loved it. Seriously, what a club! Very nice frequented, great music, great people, right in the middle of London, the atmosphere is sincerely good with mirrors hung up throughout the club, bamboos, designed ceiling lights, the club is in fire on Saturday!! Don’t miss it. But before turning up there don’t forget to put your name on a guests list otherwise... you might struggle to get in.

unfortunately i think the people below don't go to the west end very much i think these guys might be more Camden folk, China white is very very good for young fun people who have a bit a spare cash to blow, yes its up market yes its expensive but hey we are in one of the best cities in the world
5 stars for me on service ,music, and clients
hmmm...it's difficult to comment on China Whites as you will either absolutely love it or regret having gone there for the rest of your life. There is really not much of an in-between.
Sadly (or perhaps thankfully)...I hated it when I visited the place with a mixed girl/boy group of friends on the weekend.
You will have heard about China Whites as it seems to be the favorite haunt for the rich and (sometimes not so) famous and features accordingly in yesterday's fish and chip shop paper. Well...those rich and famous types that are happy making ahem...'celebrity' appearances in the 'Sun' as opposed to say 'Tattler'.
Whilst the inside is opulent in decor and time has been spent on creating a lounge environment with good music, the lack of real character by the majority of the patrons visiting this establishment is a real embarrassment and is in whole responsible for the low score and poor review awarded.
Overall, yes the people are great to look at, but that's about all they are good for. I like to think of myself as person who can generally get on with almost anybody; am well travelled and am International in my outlook and experience, but I am not the type who can muster a whole evening of listenting to self-important types making themselves sound and feel even more important than they think they already are. I hate to generalize this much and am sorry if I offend those who visit this place and are friendly and approachable in every way (where were you??), but that is really the impression this place has left me.
The girls are generally there to play up to the (supersized)egos of those who can afford to buy them drinks all night. Superficiality and pretentiousness at it's very London best (sorry for the generalization but I feel it is well placed here) that places like New York or San Francisco could and would never want to match.
Just like Ministry of Sound, China's is perhaps an experience in London that dons most people's 'must have done once in life' lists. It was for me but I certainly won't be booking my return-fayre with them. It's just not my kind of place.

This has to be said.. China whites is the most overrated night club but you're not in for a good time trust me!
This club i went to purely for a friends birthday.
The people in there, Oh my goodness. It's full of desperate girls trying to get it on with famous people, even when they know these men have partners. I had to tell a girl to leave as she was not VIP and she got abusive and ... along came her groupies to give me a mouthful. I soon got them thrown out but you dont go to any night club (one with a rating like that to be treated like that)
The staff were polite and management was good but not great. Mostly the same treatment you would get from your local pub.

Oh, dear blessed God! Where to start? The boorish doormen? The overpriced drinks? The poseurs in cheap suits cradling their one lukewarm glass of champagne all night, secure in the knowledge that they have “arrived”? The male clientèle is split into the aforementioned and the dreaded “city boys” who will corner the unlucky, pin them to a wall and regale them with tales of bonuses (which they obviously deserve, being such great guys) and the credit crunch. The ladies are bolshy Essex girls or beautiful, yet silent, Eastern Europeans whose main purpose in life seems to be to haunt the clubs of the West End. And, lest I forget, the music is truly awful.
No doubt, at one point China White was “the place to be seen” if you were a certain type of person. Now it’s just sad. I, personally, would rather be flogged with a live cat wrapped in barbed wire than stray onto the premises again.

I like a members only bar or club as much as the next person but I really don’t like the kind of people that go down to China Whites. It smells of pretension of the worst kind. Which is a shame because the club its self is really nice. The music is fun, a mix of dance and R’n’B. The girls are all dressed to the nines looking for men to buy them drinks, the men are looking for easy hot drunk girls, so if you like to have a mindless, cheep, night of drunken fun a with a group of men who will compare how much bigger there bank balance is - you’ll have a good time.

I am terribly sorry, but I have to say that China White is the worst club I have ever been to. The q was tooooooo long and I was waiting for almost an hour. When I finally got in, the place was too crowded, too hot, too expencive and an obvious wannabe-posh-place.
The actuall club looked nice and the interior was very classy, but that is the only good point of this experience
Pros: Nice interior design
Cons: TOOOOO expensive, hot and crowded.

Chinawhite nightclub is rarely out of the newspapers and magazines with, it seems, every A-Z list celebrity falling out of the doors and spilling onto Air Street in the heart of the west end. Set behind a discreet white door on a quiet street off Picadilly, the only indication that something spectacular is hidden behind the door is a glass box decorated with chinese style fairy lights.
Chinawhite is a London institution with notoriously strict doormen and arrogant staff, if your names not down, then you most definitely are not coming in. Chinawhite is definitely a great night out, with opulent interior and huge sofas and beds to “lounge on”. Drinks are very expensive as is typical of west end nightclubs but everyone should try and visit Chinawhite at least once, if only to say they have done it. The best night to go is a Weds when a part loving crowd will dance the night away. Fri and Sats tend to be over crowded.

China White was the first 'posh' club I ever went to at the tender age of nineteen. I had met a Saxophonist in Ten Rooms who had conveniently been a resident musician at China's and played there on a Monday night. He offered me and my friends complimentary entry every Monday night and so every Monday night I would find myself sipping on wine, listening to live music in the intimate setting of China White. Monday nights used to be much different from any other night at China’s as it was open only to members and complimentary guests only, there were no promotions or events held so there were no external guest lists. This makes a huge difference to going on a general week night. Monday nights were quiet, everybody was friendly and ultimately were there to have a drink and a dance, it never got packed and there was never any trouble. My recent ventures to China White has sadly not not been on a Monday and quite frankly I have regretted going. I’m often not too keen on the music, the crowd seems to be full of pretentious figures, people that fancy themselves way too much and footballers, which then usually equates to desperate women, WAG wannabe’s and gold diggers! God I sound harsh, but it’s true, I sadly have friends like this! Going to China White on a general week night involves queuing, complications at the door and entry charges. I try to avoid charges like the plague – as far as I’m concerned I drink enough, besides, I wouldn’t turn up to my own funeral if there was a charge on the door! A Monday night is exempt from all this nonsense BS and is a much easier, more relaxed way of going out.
The crowd in general tend to dress up, some people are wearing suits having come straight from work, however smart casual here is completely appropriate. A bottle of house wine starts at twenty four pounds.
China White is a beautifully decorated, Aladdin’s cave kind of club. Its very dear to me and holds a lot of good memories!

Gosh, after having a look at these reviews I’m not sure if you’d want to believe me, but I’ve been to this club since 2004 and I’ve always enjoyed myself. It is a fact that Chinas has become more main stream because it has become known. In the past, it was kept quiet for the elite crowd and even to mention it in the media was a legal issue. However, there are a few things you need to know which may explain why I’ve always enjoyed myself and may encourage a positive image for the club. I have a good friend who has a good rapport with the door people, security and managers, which is why I've always ended up jumping the queues. On top of that, I’ve made good friends with the bar tenders who give me more attention when it comes to ordering drinks. Also, I know about the preferred nights and that is usually on a Tuesday night. The people who come here have money, which is why they sit on their fancy seats which they reserved for £500. Celebrities attend and they continue to attend no matter what the masses may think. Celebrities get the 200% upper class treatment while the mediocre get whatever you’d expect from not having any contacts in this club; feeling squashed with no space to dance, and not enough assistance when ordering drinks. I’ve seen Chris Rock, members of Back Street boys, Black Eye Peas, and Ludacris, however, that was during the four years that I’ve been coming here. And yes, there are models with cosmetic surgery in there and some very beautiful people. Therefore, you might be upset by the beauty and pretension you see. Don't say I didn't warn you. I can handle this type of environment, but I’m not sure if this is a good place for those who want to chill and relax. This place is clearly for the most confident, so make sure you make contacts when you enter this cool club. Dress to impress and look like you are sassy and rich, if you can.

This club makes you feel rich and famous, because of the boudoir décor and the class of people that party there. Although it's pretty pricey, it's a very intimite night out.

Having heard many bad reviews about Chinawhite, I was very apprehensive when entering. Actually, mostly I was fairly pleasantly surprised. the bouncers were not as rude as expected, and we were treated in a friendly if not slightly dismissive manner. To be perfectly honest, I was most impressed with the loos, lots of lovely perfume and make up! In general, the music is great but the people just make you feel like you do not fit in. Would not be my first choice for a great night out, but you should see it just for the experience.

Footie chaps, WAGs and wannabes by the meter… Reputation confirmed after I went there for an after-launch party in early September.
The music is VERY commercial and the people VERY fake if not surreal.
A great place to make-believe and pretend to be Beyonce or Paris: dupe celeb chasers will fall in the trap!
Just like Las Vegas, it is worth going just once for the sheer fun of fake or vice versa.
Well China White used to be the crem da le crem of clubs but id say now there is a hole host of other clubs higher up on peoples list to go.
Drinks are fairly pricey and room limited by the number of people cramming in, the music is mostly commercial R&B and hip hop with a bit of house.
It is a celeb hangout but not as it used to be. Good to come for a birthday drink if your in to name dropping about your hangout's but id recommend not pinning to many hopes on a fantastic night here.

I wanted to see what all the fuss was about with this club, as I often read about it as a celebrity hang out in the papers. I wasn't dissapointed with the venue, just the clientle. I was expecting an extremely classy crowd. Yet it was just like any other club with short skirts, too much booty and people trying hard to be pretentious.
I had quite a good night out here, and I think the venue is very classy, but I was just expecting a little more from a renowned London club.
