pepperP: “Fabulous decor. Very attractive and relaxing. Amazing atmosphere, staff were over whelming. To top it up with all of that, the food was mind blowing. Have to say, what a great job they are doing. Will definitely return, and is highly recommended!” more...

part of a chain - unpretentious and tv is on too loud
good place and reasonable prices

A good range of cheap drinks make this an appealing place at the Putney Bridge end of the High Street.
The bar is always fairly dark, and feels as though it has always had the floor covered in drinks the night before. There are some comfortable chairs, and a small beer garden (really just a place to smoke).
There is a wide range of sport shown. I’d like to watch England beat Oz in the rugby here.

This is one of the few places from London where you can drink without feeling ripped off! They have a range of special deals that mean you get very reasonably priced drinks, and also do a student card. It is always lively, with a good atmosphere, and on busier nights they get a dj in. I haven’t tried the food yet, but that looks good too, with some interesting stuff on the menu like kangaroo! The meals look reasonably priced too. Only criticism is that the ladies’ toilets are MILES away, outside and up a load of stairs! Not sure if there’s disabled access either.

Don’t go here if
1 you don’t like crowds
2 you don’t like aussies
i personally love the aussie and think they’re a great laugh. I had a great night up here last time i went. It was an extremely late one though which was not great getting back to Greenwich. Buses were obviously not as frequent and very packed with drunk people. It is huge in this venue. absolutely huge. I lost the people i was with in the toilets! Great music always seems to be playing. Good deals on drinks normally.

This walkabout is my favourite venue for monday nights, when you are meant to be bored watching TV on your sofa and that you have no idea of what is going on behind the huge doors and the queue of the walkabout picadilly.
It is the greatest venue to party on mondays. that is why it is also that packed. if claustrophobic, forget about it.
they play pretty much anything and everything from timbaland to scissors sisters but dont expect too much rap or hip hop. the walkabout is into old rock songs that make everybody screams along.
the entrance is £5 but it is worth it when you know that many drinks (beers etc) are £1.
once again, it is one of those places where you’d better have your ID if you wanna come in.
people inside are maily non-english (latinos, aussies, kiwis etc) which makes the partying even hotter!

This really is a walkabout like no other. We are all familiar with the aussie sports pub that plays a more indie feel of music. The Shaftesbury Avenue one is more like a nightclub! first of all it’s massive, with a great upstairs and huge downstairs dancefloor, it plays a variety of music but still in-keeping to the usual indie feel. The screens to text messages to are hilarious and do not hide any content! It’s thought of as a place to start your night but once it’s packed no one wants to leave.

Walkabout in Putney is a fun and lively place with a varied and interesting crowd. You'll find a lot of Australians and South Africans there who are working in London, rugby players and, of course, students from the local Roehampton University.
The food is reasonably priced, comes quickly and is well cooked. They have lots of deals on- it's a bit of an Australian Wetherspoons!
Probably not a great place to come on a Wednesday night if you're trying to avoid students, but otherwise it's very relaxed and friendly. Come on a Thursday when it's open til' 1!
