Open 24 hours and filled with tasty cheap morsels, you can’t go wrong here. They do a huge range of bagels with a variety of fillings which are filling and they all taste great. They also do a good range of cakes, for those with a sweeter tooth, but the best item to buy from these bakery’s is actually bread. I used to grab a loaf from here on the way back from a night on brick lane and then devour it for breakfast the next day! It’s slightly sweet and light, a little like brioche and tastes incredible with butter and jam..

This is the place to satisfy your late night bagel cravings. Open 24 hours it makes the perfect place to pick up a later night snack after visiting one of the numerous bars/clubs in the local area. The smoked salmon bagel with cream cheese is my favourite and the prices are really great! Certainly worth a visit if you are in the area!

The only place in all of London that sell high quality bagels! I actually love their bagels and would happily eat their everyday but alas I do not live nearby. Their plain cheese cake is extraordinary and a little taste of heaven. Even at 3am it is busy and staff friendly whatever time of day or night. This is one place that everyone should go and eat from!

Have I missed something here? I feel awful saying it as everyone else appears to love this place! After reading the reviews I decided to pop in a couple of weeks ago and I must say I was disappointed!
The bagel was nothing exciting and the cream cheese tasted sour. I went at about 7.30pm if this makes any difference to why I didn’t experience the wonderful bagels that everyone else did?!
I feel like I’ve missed out :(

As a displaced New Yorker, one thing I really miss is a good bagel. Chains like Bagel Factory produce horrible hard round blocks slathered with some sorry excuse for cream cheese that doesn’t do anyone any favours. Beigle Bake is a saviour and an antidote to homesickness. Nice and chewy on the inside and slightly crunch on the outside, good quality cream cheese, and such wonders as salt beef that they’d never dream up Stateside. And they’re cheap, too. As I don’t live very close, every visit involves a salt beef and a cream cheese, plus a dozen plain ones to enjoy later. If I did live in the neighbourhood, I’d probably stop by at least once a day.

This has to be my favourite bagel place in London. Living out west, I don’t visit this establishment nearly as often as I would like too but this is probably a good thing! One of the cheapest and tastiest meals in London and I often get a 1/2 dozen to take away with a salmon and cream cheese to have on the spot. It’s a good idea to keep some in the freezer for any bagel emergencies if you don’t happen to live a stumble away.
There is always a queue but it goes really quickly as the service is really speedy. A great place to take friends from out of town for the experience.

Nice bakery located at Brick Lane. It is open 24 hours but I always have been there on Sunday mornings after visiting the Brick Lane market. The queues are always long but you are served quite quickly. They don’t only sell bagels, they also have some pastries and sweets. But the bagels are amazing! I like the salmon with fresh cheese cream but the best for me is the hot and salt beef with mustard, Oh my good, it is really good!
The prices are surprisingly cheap so it makes this place a really good value for money!
They sell the bagels in big quantities so you can take them to home with you. Yummy!

This place is an insitution! Come here at any time, 24/7 (although it seems better at night!) Cheap, down to earth prices for down to earth food, served by friendly staff. A wide selection of fillings is available but you have to try the traditional salt beef! There are lots of desserts and cakes available too to tempt you! You will see a wide variety of characters coming to the shop at night; taxi drivers, people who have left night clubs, students and a whole collection of random people! Parking outside is possible (if you can get a space.) You can also ponder as to why two bagel shops are next to each other, competing for competition!

This beigle bake is open 24 hours and quite famous to say the least. A friend of mine who used to finish work at 3 in the morning would drive one hour out of his way in order to take advantage of their divine bagels. As mentioned, the salted beef and mustard is a personal favourite of mine and extremely popluar, but you cannot forget about the classic which is made up of smoked salmon, cream cheese and finished of with lashings of cracked black paper.
If my knowledge serves me right, the beigle bake is located at the far end of lane close to liverpool st.

A good tip for visitors to London, especially in the early hours when you are in need of some tasty food! It smells divine, and tastes just as good. We also used them to do a bulk supply for a large breakfast meeting and it went down sooo well! Its an incentive to get people to attend breakfast meetings, thats for sure! I wish there was one round the corner, but then again, I would quickly develop a Bagel Belly!

Awesome salt beef bagel - huge chunks with a slather of mustard. Worth a detour or maybe as an hors d’oeuvre before a curry?!
Only bad thing is there’s nowhere to sit but that’s part of the charm.
Go there! Now!

For being delicious and cheap & a 24 hr heaven this deserves another mention!
Delicious proper bagels the most expensive is smoked salmon (loads of) + cream cheese at £1.90. A cheese bagel is only 30p. A dozen to take away costs £1.44.
There are loads of yummy cakes including proper apple strudel and other breads and buns all very cheap.

I can’t fault this place, bagels are 20p each and there are lots of different fillings to get such as smoked salmon and cream cheese for £1.40. They are always busy, and everything is freshly baked which is good, so I always stock up on some to take home. There is also a variety of cakes and pastries at prices a fraction less than other bakeries. I would recommend grabbing lunch here when in the area. I like the fact it is open 24 hours, and it’s probably a lot better to come here rather than grabbing a kebab.

Great place to stop buy after a night out if your in the area. Very cheap and cheerful. Huge production line of bagels which go for around £1. The secret seems to be out the bag now so expect some long lines of hungry people.

Oh man! This is the real deal, decent super fresh bagels. Many nights have I dropped in here and it is proper London Icon. You should not miss this place on The Grand Tour of London.

Cheap, generously filled bagels served without a smile sums this place up. There’s usually always a queue but once you’ve been here you’ll understand why.
It sits next to it’s competition and I know a lot of people get confused knowing which one to go to. This place is on the right hand side as you look at both the bakeries.
Other differences include the fact that this place pre-make most of the usual bagel combinations (cream cheese, smoked salmon & cream cheese, tuna, etc.) whereas the other place makes them to order. Don’t think that this means pre-made is bad, as the turnover is so fast they usually always taste pretty fresh. Another difference, in my opinion, is that the quality of the ingredients - especially the smoked salmon - is much better than it’s neighbouring competitor.
Aside from beigles (someone told me that this is the correct spelling but we’ve acquired the american 'bagel’ spelling - is this true?) they do loads of cakes and breads, along with salt beef rolls. I’m not much of a salt beef fan but it’s apparently great.
It’s all about takeaway here but you can prop against the little counter opposite where you’re served if you’d rather not walk and eat. Also, it’s open 24 hours which is handy if you’re staggering past after a night out.
Staff are very busy and rarely crack a smile but who cares when you can get a smoked salmon and cream cheese bagel, a drink and a cheesecake for less than five quid!

I feel like I’m about to commit some kind of sacrilege, but I have to admit it: I was unimpressed. This is the bagel shop to which every Londoner must at some point make his or her pilgrimage? I felt like I’d been the target of some giant piss-taking. Brilliant that it’s open 24 hours - I can see how it would make a nice late-night snack - and the prices truly are absurdly low. But … there’s a but. They’re itty-bitty! And not even warm. Give me a proper New York bagel over these any day. I’ll stop in for one if I’m already roaming around Brick Lane. But I see no reason to make a special trip.

Heaven in Bethnal Green exists at Brick Lane Beigle Bake, my first visit was in 1989, and I have loved coming here ever since.
I recently subjected 4 South African friends to their delights. On my recommendation, we all had hot salt beef beigles with lashings of mustard and cups of tea… just over £3 per head - we stood inside munching whilst I gave them a short history of my many visits, and my love for the place. Amazingly, two of the lads ordered 2nds and munched them as we walked to Liverpool Street Station. We arrived there, laughing at the drizzles of mustard coating their jackets. But they loved the place and were very happy to be introduced to this East End institution.
I just wish I lived closer to the place, they have amazing freshly baked bread, which smells fantastic as it comes out the oven. On many occasions, it doesn’t even get onto the shelves before being sold.
The staff are lovely and helpful, if you are a newbie, they will patiently take you through their wares and describe each, until you are happy to make a choice.
The outside of the shop has become overridden with beggars, but they don’t want feeding, just money - I did offer food but was ungratefully told “NO”, not “No, thanks” ...just “NO”

A real institution on Brick Lane, this place seems to have been there for ever, and is always open when you need it. Can’t beat the salt beef bagel with a generous portion of English mustard - a lifesaver at 1am and very cheap, I often end up buying two at once for the road home.
Always a queue there, always moves fast so you are never far away from a delicious treat. If you are a bit more organised, you can also buy various types of loaves at brilliant prices.

Unlike a lot of folks, I’m not a huge fan of the bagels from this Brick Lane institution. However, I must admit that they do offer quality sustenance and dirt cheap prices. My favourite offering is bagel with pickled herring (those unfortunate souls having to smell my breath afterwards might not be so enthused).
My wife tends to think their bagels are too sweet and not chewy enough. Having lived in New York and New Jersey, I must agree. But with most of their filled bagels coming in at under one pound, it’s hard to fault them. I’m sure I’ll happily queue up (there always a queue here!) again.
