This is the best cinema in central London. Shows old classic films and has a great authentic original feel to cinema. Saw Godfather here few months ago for just a few quid and was great better than re-watching on DVD agian.
The last three films I saw in this cinema was “Inland Empire”,
“Mulholland Drive” and “Lost Highway” all three films directed by David Lynch.
I love this place, it carries the spirit of Old London in it! Small but quality cinema!
It s a really nice, relatively small cinema, which doesn’t have a mainstream feel to it. The staff are really nice and laid back and generally the venue is cool (sadly including the temperature inside somewhat) and the downstairs bar is very sweet and cosy, a little get away in the middle of Leicester Sq. I am considering becoming a member, as it is actually rather a good deal, even better than Picture Houses I would say… The tickets don’t cost a fortune which is also plus.
A kind of sacred place in the heart of London. It has such an enchanting spirit. I love it!
This place is brilliant. I am sooo jealous of the staff who work here, they seem to be having a blast. I went to Singalonga Sound of Music and it was an experience beyond my wildest dreams.
In addition though, I left my scarf behind (probably through after show excitement) and when i phoned next day to ask if they’d found it – they had, kept it for me and smilingly handed it over later that week).
The place has a pleasingly slight seedy air, with velvet seats and a great bar (although it’s impossible to get a drink at interval, MUST be ordered beforehand).
They could do with some more toilets too – the queue goes on for ever, but any place that does Sunday lunchtime survivors film showings with bacon sarnies gets my vote.
This is a really special little slice of london, i hope its here forever! Home of the singalong now too, yay!

Great cinema for movies that had been released 6-12 months ago. Very good prices too given the location, as Odeon charges 5 times more next door.
They also show some of the classics, which is great, as some movies are always best to watch in a cinema rather than on a 40" TV.

Love this cinema!
The auditoriums are comfortable, the prices are affordable and the selection of films is brilliant!
They always have themed seasons going on, show old and rare film as well as more recent pictures.
Great location, too, with Leicester square in front and China town just around the corner.
Cheap, central, and a little bit grubby round the edges, this place has at least the first point in its favour relative to the ridiculously priced cinemas in the vicinty. Ideal for students, those on a budget, or for a cheapish date ( in combination with a meal for two in Chinatown).
I have probably been to The Prince Charles more times that any other cinema – I used to go back in the days of the Rocky Horror with the Charming Underclothes as a shadow cast (before the wretched days of Sing-a-long-a). I just can’t believe I haven’t reviewed it sooner.
This place is amazing – everything a good cinema should be.
Seats – the seats are comfortable & spacious (and if you’re on a date, the arms between seats lift up to allow for snuggling up)
Confections – surprisingly reasonably priced popcorn, sweets, soft drinks & even alcohol
Price – seriously cheap, particularly by West End comparison. If you’re going to go more than a couple of times a year it’d be really worth getting a membership which will save you even more money
Films – The Prince Charles shows the films I really want to see. Okay, it’s nice to take in a huge blockbuster every now and then, but I much prefer old favourites, timeless classics, and the more off-beat and independent films. They also run great programmes of events, such as double bills, ‘Breakfast Club’ (hangover) films, and audience participation events. But the great thing about the Prince Charles is that these are shown without pretension – you don’t have to reel off the back catalogue of Pedro Almodóvar or discuss the pros and cons of various filming techniques. As long as you like films you’ll be welcome here!
Staff – the fun, friendly and engaging staff is probably the key factor in what makes this cinema great. These guys really know their stuff and are always friendly, both in person and on their twitter account.
So, in summary – amazing cinema. Why haven’t you been yet?
Ever since I first moved to London a few years back, people have been raving to me about the Prince Charles. And they would always talk about it in hushed reverential tones. Almost as if it was the headquarters for some strange, sinister cult. And yes, finding somewhere only seconds away from Leicester Square where the staff are chatty and cheerful, the cinema tickets are cheap as chips and the beers will set you back only a couple of quid does sort of feel like a religious experience when you encounter it for the first time.
But then you trundle downstairs into the cinema itself, and find several hundred people caterwauling along to the expletive-laden classics from the soundtrack to the South Park film. Before the film’s even started. And even if (like me) you’ve never been here before, you’ll speedily realise that this could only happen somewhere like Prince Charles.
The events team here are brilliant. Warm, dedicated and innovative, and with a genuine love for cult classics like Wayne’s World, Empire Records, and the Rocky Horror Show, they run regular theme nights with plenty of audience participation, as well as all the current releases you’d expect from an indie cinema. I’m just cursing myself for taking so long to check it out.
very good cinema, shows lots of interesting films, cheap tickets for some films, recent films aren’t always shown here but when they are also a good price for the ticket. Has a nice little bar to relax in before the movie although you can’t take your drinks into the theatre itself.
Comfy seats? Check.
Great events with artists? Check.
Employees who love what they do? CHECK.
This is movie geek nirvana! These folks know and love cinema, and want to make your experience as pleasurable as possible. Our last outing was a screening of Airplane with a Q&A with the directors afterwards. It was a full on experience, from the carnations at the door to sick bags on our seats! I cannot say enough wonderful things about this cinema.
This is a place that I don't want to share with someone else. keep it for myself :-)

A great little cinema showing older films at vastly reduced prices. This cinema is an important part of London and deserves a lot of support :)

Unlike the neighbouring cinemas, the PC is reasonably priced and always has an eclectic range of films on show. A great hidden gem in the centre of Leicester Sq's usual bussle
