Worst roast i have ever eaten!!!!!!
Seven of us ate here today and all had similar problems. Veg cold, cauliflower that looked dirty, yorkshire puds colder than outside – how is that possible. Potatoes not cooked on inside and one slice of average grade beef all for £13. Complained to the girl who brought our food and she was very apologetic and they refunded our money – did not warrant an appearance from the manager although we asked to speak to him. All well and good refunding our money, but being served food that bad ruined our Sunday afternoon. We definitely will not be back!

Good atmosphere and decent prices. They have some good outside seating as well - if we ever see any sunshine this summer!

I really liked the Woolpack on my first visit for a quick glass of wine, and was especially impressed with their outdoor space, which I imagine gets pretty heaving in the summer. I'll write a proper review once I've eaten there :)

This is a nice place, went for lunch yesterday. Had the guest ale, which was tasty (never found out what it was) and a burger. Disappointingly the burger came without the advertised pineapple, but it was otherwise fine.
Have been here before and on other occasions the large comfortable outside area has proved very suitable for hard drinking and smoking.

Great pub, vibrant crowd, newspapers available, lovely beer garden great in the summer, good selection of drinks and very good food at reasonable prices. My top tip for Bermondsey Street.

Well, Well, Well, The Woolpack has done well for itself. Not been in for 6months or so due to the surly Eastern European staff, but I popped in yesterday afternoon and they’d been totally replaced by polite and friendly group of guys and girls.
They’ve refurbed the toilets, and also upstairs (which always looked great) but now is decked in black leather banquets which were great for having lunch on. The food was fresh and well cooked, and service was impeccable.
The missus had a lemon cheesecake Martini which she said was divine (although tad sweet for me) & thankfully they still do the Guest Ales.
All in all, this hidden Gem is a Gem again, not sure if they’ve had a change of management or what but they’ve now even got a twitter page!
Safe to say we’ll be back again

This is a trendy pub in Bermondsey with a great garden. The food is pretty good value (about £8 for a main) and is tasty. The garden can get a little crowded on sunny days but there is plenty of room.
Service is a little poor. At busy times food can be very slow, with about a 45 minute wait for a beefburger.
The toilets are also in a poor state at the moment. There is a sign saying they are being renovated but there isn’t much sign of the renovation happening.

The Woolpack is an excellent place to get a decent beer and good food. It has undergone a recent facelift, including the beer garden which is one of the best Bourgeois hangouts I’ve ever seen in London. The drinks are competitively priced and as such can get rather busy after working hours. All in all, a very good place to have a beer.

This is my local and I love it. Having moved to London 3 months ago I was surprised and pleased to see the number of pubs in this great city. I discovered the Woolpack about a week into my stay and have been going back ever since.
It is a really great Sunday afternoon pub where you can spend a lazy few hours in the garden out the back (if the weather is good) or lounge in one of the booths on the ground floor. Upstairs the roof is decorated like a Roman cathedral. The food is really tasty and reasonably priced (the chicken salad is a fav) and they have a great roast on Sunday – just make sure you get there early though because they sell out! Must also mention the Pimms, which is made in the traditional English way with loads of fruit, plus both mint and cucumber which you don’t always find at other pubs.
I always bring visitors to the Woolpack and they always leaving wishing it was their local too.

A really lovely pub with eclectic decor mixing old and new. The outdoor area is lovely in the summer too.
If you are looking for a private room then check out upstairs. You walk up a spiral staircase to be greeted by a classical fresco painted on the ceiling (well maybe not hand painted but very effective) large gilt mirrors and crystal chandeliers. Not what you expect to find if you’ve been having a quiet pint downstairs but a great little find!
The management are friendly and the pub really seems to be part of the local community.
Plus the food is deeeeelish.

This is my ‘local’ both for my home and my office. I love coming here both with friends/family and colleagues. It gets very busy on Thursdays and Fridays with all the local businesses going there after work, but it’s still nice even when packed.
The drinks are good, the service comes with a smile, the seating is great, there is a decent outside area and a lovely upstairs room with a fake fresco on the ceiling.
The food is perfect pub fare. Fabulous fish and chips, wedges, schnitzel, steak, burger, salad…the list goes on. Not much choice of dessert though. All great as a hangover cure and much better than any other local alternative.
One slightly weird thing - they always seem to serve wine in a small tumbler. No idea why. However, last week, I saw someone drinking from something that looked suspiciously like a normal wine glass. Maybe they’ve seen sense…
