Staff always friendly when we go in, the beer and ciders are always kept in top condition!
Good traditional pub atmosphere where you end up (Gasp) talking to other customers and the staff!
Look forward to next visit.

Didn't like it. Poor service, poor ale quality, poor choice, poor hygeine.

I have been to Hop and Vine twice, and really it's OK, they have a decent selection of real/local beers and ciders and its well priced. It is very small, which I don't like, but some people will call it 'cosy' or quaint or whatever.

People will have you believe this is like a real old fashioned rural drinking pub in the heart of Hull, which paints a nice picture, but it's not exactly like that. It's not quite full of the pigeon fanciers and whippet CAMRA types you might expect.

Apparently it used to be like a cave inside, which would have been far more exciting.

Having said all that the staff are friendly and look the part. I've not had food here, but people say it's very good.

Oh, I love this teeny weeny place.
Food is delish, drinks are well priced and staff informal and friendly.

Totally recommend it for some Northern hospitality - who needs to be jammed into a bar on Princes Avenue!

And the bread…...

This place does the best sandwiches - made with a numerous variety of fresh breads, as well as other food. They even let me purchase a loaf of this gorgeous bread!

While the pub is quite small, the selection and price more than makes up for it!

The staff are friendly and accomodating.
