So…. with all these bad reviews, how do they end up ranked No. 3, apparently better than someone with only one review, and ahead of those who haven’t been reviewed yet? Oh, OK, I see - you HAVE to give them one star, or Skype protests

From the first dealings in viewing the flat - (the so called professional turned up late.) to the end of the 6 month lease was a trip through the most poorly run, un-customer friendly company I have ever dealt with. When speaking to staff they are very curt and unfriendly. They have no care for the tenants at all. The flat was supposed to be professionally cleaned before we moved in but it wasn’t, the bathroom was FILTHY. Properly minging. As soon as we decided we didn’t want to extend the lease we were treated like dirt. Monthly fire alarm inspections, monthly flat inspections and viewings for prospective tenants 4 months!!!!!!! before the lease ran out.(we had only been there for 2 months!! at the time) It felt like we had no privacy at all. The shower was broken when we moved in and remained so for the duration of our stay, the people who they hired to fix it didn’t show up on the day they said they would which caused massive hassles. The beds were all broken and held together with cable ties and brown tape! I know it sounds like I’m exaggerating but I’m not. One bed kept falling apart when sat on which was replaced pretty quickly to give them credit. It’s a shame nothing else positive can be said about them. The flat was great, the Flat Company was terrible.

Never use a flat on their books. Rude staff, long delays and no customer rights are all part of this company. Hopefully this company wont be with us for long!

This is very poorly run company. The lack of professionalism is apparant from the long periods of delay before fixing problems associated with the flats which are under their lease contracts. You can contact them about an issue by phone, email, fax etc but the fact is that they do not seem to care about their paying customers and can wait for days before contacting you. Bills have been sent to the wrong flat several times (despite being contacted twice about the problem). Dont even try to have a debate with senior member of the firm as they will be of not help at all.

Friends have had to wait four days for anyone to see a broken bathroom and roofing problems. On a personal level everyone I have known to use the company have switched within a year.

This company is so badly run I do doubt that it will exist for much longer...i can only hope the replacement is better!!

This has to be the worst company I have ever dealt with, ever, ever , ever! When we moved in the shower didnt work, we had to do without it for 5 months as they said that we had broken it! Th rent was expensive and the flat was a hell hole, it was meant to be all cleaned before we moved in but I had to do it all myself when we moved in so I could put my stuff away, cleaners came a few days later which was no use! I cried the first day as it was so horrible. The cutlery had food on it and was all mouldy and we had damp in the bedroom and even when I told them this could flare up my asthma quite severly they still did nothing. We waited months on our deposit back and staff were downright rude! It took them ages to do anything and the supposed boss is useless and very rude, when I emailed him to ask about my deposit he said if I emailed him again he wouldnt answer me, not very professional!

This is absolutely THE WORST run company I have ever come across in my whole entire life. Please, do ANYTHING rather than have dealings with them! My flatmates and I lived in a Flat Company flat for two very stressful years, in which we would have been left without heating and hot water, a washing machine, a bathroom floor and, in my room, potentially without a ceiling (there was a leak and nothing was done) had we not, thankfully, lived directly above the actual owner of the property. They tried to do flat viewings for new tenants without our permission, they sent us letters telling us to expect inspections on "20", rather than putting any sort of date, their correspondence was full of dreadful typos and misinformation and they didn't even seem to recognise I was living there for the whole time, as when they finally sent the lease to us my name was missing, despite the fact that I had filled in my forms and they had hounded my guarantors. Any time we called they insisted they would do something about one of the myriad of problems we had, only to totally ignore the issue and never call us back. Emails were slightly more effective in that they solicited a reply, and eventual action, but there were always massive delays, and in things like heating problems that really isn't ideal. The more senior members were also unimaginably rude to us. To top it all off, they were ridiculously late for our final inspection on the day we moved out. In the words of my flatmate, to a company representative, The Flat Company are "astoundingly incompetent." Really. ASTOUNDINGLY. I'll consider my life well spent if I can rant them out of business.
