Hi all,
I can only hope that Emma and Dorigen did receive their dresses back and the ‘running out of boxes’ isn’t an excuse …
I’m still waiting resolution – 9 months and counting :(

Great customer service, helped where they could, did what they said they were going to do and good value for money. I am a very satisfied customer and have no reservations in recommending PdM.

A thoroughly professional company, polite on the phone, true and honest with their timings and you get an added bonus of having my dress beautifully packaged and boxed. A very good service start to finish, highly recommend!

Like many virgin reviewers you never sure what to say on these sites so i will make it easy to read… Life saver, thank god for PDEM! A bit over the top maybe but when you realise a company has gone out of their way to help you with their customer service then I feel its worth telling other people about it. A highly established team that i will happily recommend to friends and colleagues.

I’m not a regular reviewer but when I get really good, personal customer service I take the time to give the praise due. We knew we were against a tight timescale when we contacted PdeM, but was assured that it could be met. It was, and the outfit was spotless. The relief was palpable. Thank you PdeM.

If I could give PdeM 10 stars I wouldn’t think twice….
The service was absolutely fantastic from beginning to end. Having browsed through their very informative website, and taken most of the competition into account, I did have a few questions though (especially having read some of the earlier reviews on this site). The customer service dept were very helpful and talked me through all the stages of the process and answered any of the questions I had (not to mention putting my mind at ease about sending them my dress – girls, I’m sure you’ll all appreciate that feeling!!).
Collection was arranged on a day of my choice and was all very easy, the couriers were there before midday meaning I didn’t have to spend all day housebound..
The next day I was informed by PdeM of my dresses safe arrival, which definitely went a long way towards relieving my deep-set anxiety..
Although I didn’t then here much for the nest few weeks, I received an e-mail the day before I was expecting it back to confirm that it was coming..
To say that I was surprised when I eagerly opened the box the next day would be an understatement!! Not only was the dress beautifully presented in its storage box, but upon further examination of the dress, it was clear that just about every mark that was on it previously had been taken out.. (including a little red wine stain caused by my wonderful husband – all is forgiven now..)
On top of this, I had requested PdeM carry out some repair work on the hem (must be more careful when dancing) which had been done so well I could barely even see where it had been..
All in all, my experience of this company has been absolutely wonderful and not only am I surprised to hear that others have experienced differently, I will also be recommending them to just about anyone I come across wanting there dress cleaned..
Thank you, thank you PdeM… xx.

The problem with PDM is that its service really fluctuates. When it’s good it appears to be good and when it’s bad it’s really bad, and from reading the rest of the reviews here that certainly seems to be the case.
Personally I won’t be recommending PDM. I was actually recommended to use PDM by a friend who had her Ellie Saab dress cleaned by them, she had no trouble at all so she let me know of their details. I on the other hand wasn’t so lucky…
After filling in the forms on the website and paying the amount requested, I had my dress collected as promised on an agreed date from my flat. The advised amount of weeks passed and I still had not heard from PDM so 2 weeks after the date I was told it would be ready i gave them a call.
PDM were apologetic and polite on the phone and arranged to have the dress delivered back to me on a date that suited me. The dress came back on the designated day, however when i opened the box and saw my dress it was in exactly the same state that I had given to them.. the bottom of the dress was still dirty and absolutely nothing had been done, there appeared to be no attempt to clean it as even superficial marks were still there. I called PDM immediately, told them i was unhappy at the service, especially considering the amount I had paid and that told them that i thought my dress had not been cleaned whatsoever. They were once again polite but told me that it had been cleaned (which honestly could not have been true) and said that there were some stains that would never come out, I was then told that i could have it sent back at no extra charge and have the dress cleaned again, with the risk of the detergents marking it. I put my trust in them and decided to do it. Weeks passed which was fine as I was away travelling, when i got back i arranged to have my dress delivered… I finally opened the box today and to my absolute horror my dress was not in the box that they had couriered over, all that was in it was tissue paper and the bag the dress came in, there were 3 thoughts going through my mind a. the courier had stolen my dress, b. PDM had ruined my dress and were buying more time or c. PDM ruined it & would then say they had lost it … to say i was furious was an understatement, particularly as my dress is from Valentino… Once again I called PDM this time asking where my dress was as it wasn’t in the box returned to me. The person on the end of my phone was apologetic and had no idea but called me back 10 minutes later and told me not to panic as he had found it and it was fine. At this point it was too late, I was already in a panic and in the car on my way over to PDM… When i arrived my dress was sitting in an open box waiting for me. I gave it a good inspection and was relieved to see that it was indeed my dress and that it was actually clean, there were no dirty marks from the day of my wedding or from the detergent. Seeing my dress and examining where the dirty marks were as well as how it was folded today, I have absolutely no doubt that it was never cleaned in the first place.
PDM is a complete farce and a shambles. Whilst the people I have spoken to on the phone and who i saw in person today have been polite and courteous, in no way does this mean that their service is great or worth the money. The fact that there is no option of having your money back for poor quality service is very frustrating. If you are willing to take a gamble with PDM then i wish you all the best but I honestly would suggest that you ask the shop where you bought your dress to recommend somewhere to take your dress to be cleaned or read extensive reviews from anywhere else you plan to take it. Don’t waste your money or time with PDM.

One word… Cowboys. I bought my dress from a sample sale in August last year and sent my dress off to PDEM in January. I collected my dress in person once it had been “cleaned”. I took the dress home, and upon further inspection decided that the dress looked absolutely no cleaner to how it had before it went in. I contacted PDEM to air my concerns however they were not interested. I was told “You didn’t seem to have a problem with it when you picked it up”. I then went to have my dress fitted at the shop from where I bought it. It needed altering so was given to the shop’s seamstress. I was advised days later that the seamstress who was doing my alterations got “grubby hands” from working with my dress, that had supposedly been cleaned by PDEM, and that there was no way that the dress had been cleaned.
Needless to say I immediately sent the dress off to the shop’s recommended cleaning company, Terrington Burchett Ltd in Grantham, Lincs. The dress arrived back to me just days later looking absolutely immaculate and sparkling. It now looks like a different dress and I can’t wait to wear it this Saturday at my wedding.

Due to some of the other comments I was a bit apprehensive about sending my dress to Perry de Montagnac. However a good friend of mine had used them and they were also recommended by the dress manufacturer.
Therefore I called them up and asked them directly about some of the reviews I had read. Although a manager was not immediately available he called me back within the hour and listened to all my concerns before answering them. As I was satisifed with the answers I sent my dress to them – which has just arrived back this morning. And i am absolutely delighted. The dress was pretty dirty along the hem and there were also some sambuca stains (it was a fun night!!) and these have all been removed. It’s almost like new. And the box it is presentd in is beautiful too. I am thrilled and so pleased with the results.
I realise that people are often more inclined to wirte bad reviews, but as I had such a good service I wanted to let everyone know. And I will certainly be recommending them to my two friends who are getting married this year.

I sent my dress off to be cleaned and unfortunately they ran out of boxes.
I have been thoroughly disappointed in the level of customer services and communication. I phoned several times to enquire about the whereabouts of my dress and was told the boxes should be arriving 'at the end of this week'. 3 weeks later. still no contact so I called them today to demand that my dress is returned to me without the box as I am a little anxious about it.
I am disappointed that I have had to chase them up about delivery and only hope that it arrives back safely with me on Wednesday. No reduction in cost given for the inconvenience, but they graciously refunded the box I'm not getting!!
the rating may be higher if they've done a good job on my dress but not seen it yet!

Having read Mel's review that talks about her lost dress, I am getting extremely worried. I sent my dress of to PDEM 2 months ago. It has been cleaned (or so they say) but AGAIN they have run out of boxes. They DID phone me at 3.30 on the afternoon before my dress was due for return to tell me this - by which time it was too late to cancel my leave day. As such, I have requested a Saturday delivery, but have been warned the couriers are "less reliable", so now am reconsidering. I am being constantly fobbed off, given false info and not receiving promised call backs. In addition, there is no info on the site they they currently have no boxes.
Is the lack of box excuse a way to cover up the fact that they have lost or ruined my dress??
I would suggest they are avoided at all costs.

I can't comment on how good their cleaning services are but unfortunately I was that 'one in a million' (apparently their first in 9 years of business) where my wedding dress was lost and I'm very disappointed with their level of customer care after that 'one in a million' loss.
I dropped of my dress for cleaning 6 months ago- note I didn't use their courier service to drop the dress off as I lived reasonably close to them. I didn't hear from them close to the expected delivery date so I called them. I was then told that they had cleaned the dress but had run out of boxes to store the dress in. They said they would contact me when they had received more boxes to arrange delivery.
I waited patiently until January 2011 (3 months since I put the dress in for cleaning) when I called them and asked whether their boxes had arrived. Apparently they had received the boxes so my dress could now be ready for delivery. I offered to go pick up the dress as it wasn't far from where I live and as I had dropped it off in the first place. The customer services chap was very friendly and strongly suggested that it would be much easier for me if they just couriered it - this was where in hindsight I should have trusted my gut instinct and insisted I pick the dress up....
So they arranged a delivery date and I took a day off work waiting eagerly for my cleaned dress to arrive. The dress didn't arrive.
I phoned them and they said it was out with the courier and that they would check. They called the following day and said it would arrive on the Monday - so AGAIN I took a day off work to wait for my dress to be delivered. The dress didn't arrive.
Again, I phoned them and asked what was happening - they couldn't tell me.
Finally a few days later the Manager phoned me with the dreaded phone call - my dress had been stolen from the Courier's warehouse....
There is no full compensation for a lost wedding dress however
- It's been 6 months since I put the dress in for cleaning - and even with the cleaning it took almost 3 months for them to clean and source a box so it was ready for collection and I had to chase them to find out what was happening
- I spent 2 days of Annual Leave waiting for the dress to be delivered
- It's been almost 3 months since I was informed that the dress had been lost and compensation for the dress and refund of the box cost and cleaning services is still being discussed
- They've also lost the pretty handbag which was made from the spare dress material which I asked if they would be okay in wrapping with my dress
There can be no full compensation for the sentimental value of the dress but I don't think it's unreasonable to have hoped that for that 'one in a million' instance of a dress being lost there could be that 'one in a million' level of customer service especially after the long wait for the dress to be cleaned and that I had to chase to find out what was happening with the dress.
Unfortunately not so for PDEM - it's just business and after all of this prolonged stress and upset all I'm going to get is the stated compensation on their website.
It's just business folks - so you have a choice when using PDEM.
1. Ask them about their courier - be aware that when they say courier it is NOT point to point - your dress may be stored in a Courier's website overnight.
2. Consider the worst case scenario - what level of customer care do you want for that 'one in a million' scenario. A purely transactional business response or a high level of customer care for that 'one in a million' scenario.
3. And my personal learning is to trust my gut instinct - I kept being worried as to how long it was taking for the dress to be cleaned and how they didn't contact me to let me know when the dress was ready - unfortunately now I know I was right to be worried.

I was very hesitate in sending my wedding dress off to any company as my dress is covered in fine detail/beading/diamonte's etc. After emailing PDEM they phoned me and answered all of my questions and even said if they were un-sure about any thing once they recieved the dress they would phone me before doing any thing to the dress, which put my mind at ease a little.
The courier was pretty jolly and picked the dress up when he was meant to, PDEM said the dress would be back on 4th Feb and it was it came first thing and i was so pleased to have it back safe and sound.
I was very excited to see just how good it looked as i had quite a big train on my dress and after being dragged around the floor which had food, beer, wine etc it looked pretty disgusting, my god it was amazing, it looked as though the dress had never been worn!!!!
I was also debating whether or not to pay the extra and get the box, i was really set against it to start with but then why have it professionally cleaned and stick it in an old cardboard box. So i went ahead and picked the traditional box. I am soooo pleased i did, when i recieved it back the box was amazing, totally worth every single penny, it was hard and sturdy, box had like a design on it which was very nice and the big cream bow just completes it and the carry handles on each side, are very helpful.
After spending some time just admiring my dress i thought that the box did look pretty big when i went on PDEM website and measured again against the one i order i noticed that they had up-graded my box for free, obviously the traditional box just wasn't deep enough for my dress.
I just can't reccomend this company enough.
I looked around alot at different professional wedding dress cleaners and PDEM had the best reviews and now i can see why.
Please don't hesitate to use PDEM they are professional, helpful and just the absolute best at what they do and i doubt very much your find a better price for the quality of service you will recieve.
