We've had several deliveries from Rickshaw's and the food has always been fantastic. My boyfriend loves Pizza and I love Chinese so this makes it easy to order - always polite drivers and helpful when I wanted a suggestion the receptionist was brilliant... I would agree with the delivery times - they can sometimes be a bit slow but it is DEFINATELY worth the wait... I would suggest placing an order earlier and arrange a slot.

When you find a take-away that sells a variety of food cooked brilliantly, it's always the same - a delay due to demand...!!

This Central Edinburgh (Causewayside is a 20 minute walk from the centre of town) takeaway provides food based upon the cuisine of four nations India, Thailand, Italy and Chinese. This range of food ensures that everybody in even the most fussy families (like mine!!) can be satisfied. The value for money is excellent with long term customers often given deals (a free beer with curry order over £15 was a favourite!). My family has eaten food from Rickshaws several times and on each of the occasions we have been impressed with the quality and heat of the food. The only thing to note is that delivery can sometimes be slow on busy nights (eg-Friday).

This place offers plenty of variety, which can be great if you're entertaining guests, but I must comment on their quality. Some products, are great, like the aloo gobi, but others, like the chicken goujons, for example, are dry and flavorless to the point of being unpalatable. The portions are large, and prices relatively fair, but I think they need to work on conistancy of quality. The pad thai, as another example that comes to mind, was well balanced for ingerdients, but the prawns tasted fishy--not at all fresh.

I have ordered from Rick Shaw's several times in the past, and am usually decently pleased, but on Friday night I must have called every 2 minutes for the better part of an hour, and all I got was a busy signal. Hmmm..

If you're desperately hungry and perhaps homebound, or if you are ordering on a non-peak time, Rick Shaw's will probably do you right. The problem, howver, is that I cannot say you will be pleased with any certainty.

The idea of having four different cuisines (Indian, Chinese, Thai and Italian) on one menu is rather handy - we can never choose something we all want in my flat! So, with RickShaws we don't have to. Ahhh, peace. The first three times I had food from here it was totally delicious and the delivery was pretty punctual. Last night, however, was rather a different story. The food was mediocre and the delivery was very slow. It was a Friday night, so I guess busy nights are best avoided here. It's such a shame because the first few times were so good I was going to give a rave review - unfortunately they're just not consistent enough!
