Review of The Ingram Arms from 19 December 2012
We have been taking the half hour journey to the Ingram Arms at least once a week for a number of years with both family and friends from different parts of the world, because you can always be guaranteed a warm welcome and good food. If you go expecting fine food and fine dining, go somewhere else. Cliff, Sarah, Andrew and family will serve you good quality home prepared and delicious cooked food, the same as you get at home, if you're lucky. No microwave meals, no frozen vegetables and nothing out of a tin. If you leave hungry, then its your own fault, because the meals are substantial to say the least. The bill when you ask for it, will raise an eyebrow, but only because you won't believe that you've eaten so well, for such a reasonable price.
I have read the negative comments, and can only say that this is not the Ingram Arms that we know. We have eaten at very many fine dining restaurants across the UK and Europe, including most of the TV Chefs, so are used to the best at the best prices. The Ingram Arms serves what it says - good food, good hospitality and not a penny over priced.
Looking forward to Christmas day with our family
Nigel and Lynne Stevens

this warm cosy country pub is a lovely place  to relax and eat and meet up with friends. they cater for  functions and group bookings and they serve the best sunday lunch for miles around, i love  the setting, the  atmosphere and  the food. highly  recommended in quality and  quantity and the people are very welcoming. i have  gone  here for years.

What a disgusting place. We were going to stay in the newly refurbished room. The stair carpet was thick with grease from the kitchen and your shoes stuck to it .The grease was trekked into the bedroom. At first sight didnt look to bad,but on looking closer the bedding was stained, hairs in the bed.I could not stay in a room like that would rather sleep in the car.

I suspect the praise on here are from ingram staff, I am a pensioner and dont get out much my daughter took me to this pub, for my birthday, because it seemed good value,I had fish and chips, the chips were under cooked and hard in middle, and although they said it was fresh haddock,it was obviously frozen,I thought it was very poor and my daughter had to suffer the embarresment of refusing to pay,and we left our meals unfinished,we went to the jenny wren which was more expensive but excellent food and service.steer clear

Used to go here every sunday for dinner which was good, however during march we went for tea during the week and the food was just deplorable, think they may have different chef during week either that or she was drunk, some parts of meal were over cooked and tough as leather or under cooked and inedible,

we really like ingram arms, we have been going since 1978 and still find it one of our best pubs, they are so friendly and welcoming and the food is excellent i havent had a bad meal at all, its all fresh and hot, years ago we used to go to their new years eve party they used have a tent with a buffet and disco, now it is a restaurant and a lovely setting, sunday dinner roast beef is ace but all other meat is as well, we go to a few other pubs but still keep going back to ingram arms. Keep up the good meals, i havent tried christmas dinner yet there but will in the future.

A really nice country pub & restaurant - the food really is very good & quiet cheap for the quality & amount you get - all dishes are home made & ingredients locally sourced - no need to book in the week but weekends get very busy - highly recommended pub!
