Stayed here at very short notice on a Friday evening and got an amazing ‘friend of a friend of the manager’ deal, can’t say how much for, but an astoundingly low price. Also had the best non-suite room in the whole place, on the top floor. Fantastic room, immaculate, classical music playing on arrival. Lovely toiletries.
The bar is contempory and stylish. Waitress service when it’s not packed out. Lovely cocktails and not over-priced (but not cheap either!).
Breakfast was included and had a great continental selection. I had salmon and scrambled eggs, which were tasty, but a friend had boiled eggs and soldiers, which were underdone and not as good. Service was a little slow. Good for celebrity spotting! Kelly Osbourne (in the room next door) and Trinny and Suzanna at breakfast…
One of the nicest hotels I’ve stayed in, would definitely recommend the Malmaison brand. And I haven’t been swayed by the excellent deal too much, promise! Although going back and paying full price next time might sting :)

Yet another gorgeous Malmaison with its painfully fashionable and chic stylish decor. They tend to use dark moody tones, and all the bathrooms and bedrooms use only modern shapes ( a square sink!) of course complete with an LCD screen on the wall, and your own personal DVD Player. What sets this one apart from the other Malmaison’s is the gorgeous spa, open until 10pm… its exactly what you need after a long meeting. Highly recommended.

The Malmaison bar is the achingly cool place to go for a drink in Birmingham. Located at the front of the Mailbox development, you'll be lucky to get in here if you're not a resident.... so atleast dress up to look the part. If you do make it past the bouncers you'll be greeted by a stylish red and black interior, plenty of LCD screens (often flashing up images of achingly beautiful, half naked models). The empasis here is on fine wines, cocktails and champagne and as you'd expect the prices can be eye watering. Depending on your tastes, this place is either your ideal of heaven or hell. Personally, I love it.
