I really enjoy going to this place. The food is lovely and the range of beers is fantastic. It can get busy and the stairs and different levels can make it seem Escher-esque!

Worth a visit, especially for a sunday lunch.

I visited this pub in the afternoon on a weekday. Not the busiest time usually, but it still had a comfortable amount of people in. Enough to stop it feeling empty. The décor is fabulous. Lots of wood, and separate little nooks and crannies to sit in. Carvings and ornaments all over. Though I didn’t stop for a drink the barman I talked to was quick to respond to some enquiries I had, and went to someone else quickly when he couldn’t help. So good service points there.

They do a range of real ale, and do food (with a separate eating area and a tasty looking menu). I have a feeling it’s probably packed at times. I certainly have it on my list of places to go should I need somewhere to take someone down Broadway Market!

Agree with everyone about the rude staff - I used to love going to the Dove but everyone warned me about the owner. I had never experienced any problems until one night. I was having a drink with my girlfriend and another couple who suddenly announced they were engaged. We obviously congratulated them but were immediately told by the Manager - who stormed across the room - to “Be quiet. This is a respectable pub for quiet conversation”. Basically he made us feel like crap and (literally) stood staring at us for the rest of the evening from behind the bar. Considering I was a regular customer and we had only had one drink at that point it was a complete overreaction. I vowed never to go back and haven’t. Others have mentioned his rudeness on this and other sites - when will he learn???

Broadway market and the whole area around London Fields is great for mooching around at the weekend, but particularly one onf my favourite places is the Dove on Broadway market itself. I always seem to end up there when picnics in London Fields get rained off (quite frequently) but it’s hard to mind once you get there. They have a good range of wines and beers (particularly if you like your Belgian beers like me) and a great menu. There’s nooks and crannys to hide away in, but it’s always pretty busy due to the increasing popularity of the market outside, so get there early.

This pretty little 17th. Century riverside pub has everything; unspoilt surroundings, good food and excellent beer, which must explain why it gets so busy. The Dove’s popularity is nothing new.

A not-so-hidden gem on Broadway Market, which is a place that I can never work out if I’m going to get knifed in, or if it’s actually quite nice. Regardless, when you’re inside you’ll be treated to a beer menu that can only be described as extensive, plus decent, if slightly pricey grub, and live jazz on Sundays. I’ve been coming here for a few years and have not had a bad experience. Nice.

An infamous local pub which seems to be attracting Londoners from far and wide. The Dove is on London’s ‘new Hoxton’ strip, Broadway Market and attracts an unpretentious arty young crowd but is the kind of place you could easily bring your parents, kids and even dogs.
It has an array of Belgium beers on tap with Fruli (strawberry beer) being my personal favourite. The Dove also does an amazing Sunday roast. A whole roast chicken with all the trimmings will set you back £17 and you’ll be asking for a doggy bag guaranteed.
Check it out on Saturday, market day, although you may struggle to find a seat

I don't know where the rest of you have been, but the Dove I went to on Broadway Market is a dump! The selection of beers was interesting, but the bar staff were ridiculously rude (to say it politely). The food was almost an hour coming out and cold, and the response from the wait staff when I complained ... get this ... "This place sucks, I'm so sorry you had to come here." The decor was less enchanting than moth-ridden. The place needs a swift de-gastrification in the backside. I hate it when people pretend something is sweet just because it's on a trendy backwater.

What can I say? I love the Boradway Market and I love The Dove even more.

Yes, the drinks can be a little expensive, but I don't think I've ever been to a more welcoming pub in London. During the dry weather, it is also pleasant to sit outside and watch the hustle and bustle of market life.

They have a great selection of beer and ale, a great thing for this pint drinker! They change the selection quite often with various guest drinks, so it's possible to try something different everytime.

It's relaxed, chilled and homely, the wooden beams giving it a lovely warm atmosphere. Staff are friendly and it's great fun sitting in the lower level playing chess whilst nursing a pint!

I have to second what's been said before about the range of beers; there's some here that I've not seen (or drunk) anywhere else. Delerium is 9% - which I suppose justifies the expensive price tag, and that they only serve it halfs! The mini size benches at the front are good for people watching if you enjoy the bustle of Broadway market under your nose, and inside has a kind of Gallic cavern cafe feel to it, with oodles of atmosphere. The loos are unisex which takes a little getting used to! Definitely a talky pub not a dancy one.

When it comes to choice of alcoholic beverage, there are few who could match the Dove for it's liquid temptations. Situated in the popular Broadway Market, the pub established itself through the tough times when the Market didn't exist and thrived.

There's many a reason for that. Not only does it have the beer selection from heaven, it serves up a mighty feast too. The ambiance can best be described as enchanting, with four different sections to the building. The main bar space has has room to seat about thirty people, with a little alcove for those romantic discussions. Behind the bar is the restaurant and the downstairs combines eaters and drinkers.

In a word, the place is lovely! The wooden beams and lit candles add a warmth that the sterile chain bars could learn from. The staff know their stuff and clearly receive good training. I am jealous of their tasting lessons.

Beautiful pub in the heart of Broadway Market with a huge selection of Belgian beers.
Kitchen is open daily. Food is good, without being amazing. Good fish and chips.
Nice atmosphere and decor. Some tables outside.
Service is often rude and abtrupt however and prices a little ambitious.
Best to book a table for dinner/lunch at week-ends.
