My bf and I turned up an hour early and sat and had a drink....well a bottle of the Turkish red, which was very nice. Smooth and inoffensive..though I don't profess to be a wine buff, but we ordered it for the whole table and everyone seemed to enjoy it.
We ordered the Mezze Platters for the table, which were lovely, nothing particularly outstanding (though I think the bottle of wine beforehand may have clouded my taste buds slightly. For main I had Karni Yarik based upon a recommendation on Qype. It was lovely, but perhaps slightly bland, but again...I don't think I was quite on form.
The staff were lovely, and the decor is great! It's just somewhere a little different and a great place to come with a group of friends and a nice, chilled out, fun and sociable meal. Plus it wasn't too noisy so you could speak to the whole table.
Oh and it was very cheap, for a a table of 11 it came to £24 each (excluding tip) and we each had a starter and main plus we ordered 6 bottles of wine for the table. Very reasonable!
Overall I would come here again...but this time I'll save the drink for the meal ;-)

bexb-d, 21 September 2012:
Turkish lamps, cavernous setting, generally lovely staff and lovely food. They also appear to have live music on some evenings. I had a go at the mezze platters and falafels. The only disappointment for me on the night was the wine but as long as you know it, make sure you taste their Raki instead!

Two days ago this place was the perfect location for the Qype Turkey Launch event and we had the chance to taste delicious borek (fried filled pastries similar to samosa), falafel and dolmasi (vine leaves filled with rice, tomato and spices). A special mention for the tasty humus, great in flavour and consistency. We also tried Efes beers and Raki, the Turkish national drink with a delicate aniseed aroma.
You should treat yourself with a dinner here but you can enjoy meals all the day - breakfast, lunch, coffee / tea break, etc...- you'll find amazing Turkish food at a decent price and friendly service.
Not to be missed: Borek, Humus, Ezme (Spicy tomatoes with green peppers, herbs and lemon juice), Karni Yarik (aubergine with minced meat and tomato sauce with a side of rice and yogurt sauce) and Adana Kebab (spicy lamb grilled on charcoal). Plus, bellydance shows are on at the Stone Cave on Friday and Saturday.

Maybe it was in part my Raki rush but I was soon highly impressed with the decor (at least when candle-lit), staff friendliness and generally relaxed ambience of the place. You could come here with a group of mates or have a romantic meal for two or three. Apparently THE night to go is Saturday when Turkish family locals and a few English girls with short shorts all manage to dance away together to an authentic Turkish band! You want to know about the food as well? The popular starters are standard quality dolma and hummus - but this was also my first lovely cheesey 'borek' tasting, and second, and third, and...The grills look and smell great, and come in moderate sizes, but I think for the spirit of sensory indulgence, Mezze must be the way to go.

Dropped in here recently during a trip to ‘happening’ Dalston when I was surprised to discover there are still precious few places to eat around the station. I wasn’t disappointed, as Stone Cave turned out to be a quirky and fun place to eat with friendly staff whose sense of fun came across very quickly! Decent mezze, good choice of food for veggies and a relaxed atmosphere. Will probably return next time I’m hungry in Dalston!

This place is fantastic place to go and dine in and have fun with the live music and the lovely atmosphere with fantastic cave like interior designs.
I had a deliciouse traditional turkish kebab with the cold starters and then the live music started it was great with friendly staff and affordable prices.
This place is a must you would only understand when you go there your self. I would recommend it to anyone…

Fantastic, Fred Flintstone interior decorating, fairly good food and belly dancing! You can’t go wrong here. The music can get loud, though, so be prepared to end your conversations once the band comes on.

Really enjoyed the food here, and the staff, and live late night music made it even better. Great for a night with a few friends.

As already said the restaurant is decorated to look like a cave.
They do a lunchtime buffet for £5.75 which is eat as much as you like. There is a good and plentiful selection with helpful and friendly staff.
