La P'tite Folie is just how a French restaurant should be- very French, starting from the decor, with French actresses' pictures adorning the walls, French staff who are friendly and casual in their approach, and food that will fill you with delight and a warm fuzzy feeling. The evening meals are quite expensive, but a bargain lunch menu is served weekdays that is within anybody's budget. You get two courses, of the same size as the evening meals, for about half the price, and although the menu is limited, it usually has a chicken dish for those of you who are less adventurous, and anything from duck to Mussels for the foodies out there. You get a free tasty salad and bread basket for starters, the house wine is value for money, and the food is well presented, extremely tasty and very French!! Both city centre branches offer the same quality of food and service, so be prepared to get stuffed and get happy.

I went here last week with my work for lunch in a group of 10 and I was pleasantly surprised. I wasnt sure if there would be anything I liked on themenu as I was imagining snails etc but the food was gorgeous. It mainly normal restaurant food but they cook it with a french twist. I had a pork terrine served on sald with a toasted baguette and salmon with a pesto crust and potatoes, we also has wine, water and some fries - the garlic fries are to die for! I didnt visit the Fredrick St branch I was at the Tudor Castle one just off Queensferry Street which was well decorated and had a nice feel to it. The best thing was that for a two course lunch it was only £8.50 - amazing for such a great meal! I really liked how all the staff were french and spoke to you in a mixture of french and englis it was very authentic. I would recommend all foodies to try here!
