strengthofabear: “Came here on New Years Day for Lunch with Ruiz and others, ended up staying till 11pm. Good jukebox. Helpful staff. Nice beer garden. Good location. Food was very average, standard pub stuff at best and not a lot of choice.” more...13 reviews of The Elephant's Head Pub in English

Went on a Thursday afternoon, good beers (London Pride of course) and wine lunch served until 5 and was excellent (chilli with rice). Would recommend.

Comedy night here is quality.
Comedians do a lot of warm up here. Good chance to catch someone decent
This pub looks nice from the outside. It has one of those old fashioned exteriors. I didn't really like the interior much though. And someone with a dog was going around begging for cider money (not really the pubs fault). Seemed to lack any kind of atmosphere.
They do real ale here, but they seem to hide the pumps behind the menus on the bar for some reason. The ale they serve is a well enough kept pint of Courage Best, unfortunately I’m not a huge fan of this particular beer, especially not at the price they sell it for here.

My opinion of this pub changes everytime I go here. When ever I need to kill a few mins in Camden, and I fancy a pint i know 'the head' will have somewhere to sit.
The selection of beer is fine, with one or two ales on tap. However, I have attempted to go here in the evenings, and it's always been a bit crap. Rammed to the rafters with emo looking posers (really, in Camden?!) who have no spacial awareness.
I would sugges this is a place for a quick drink on a lazy summer day. But steer clear in the evenings
i love this pub on a Friday/Saturday night. They have a small dj setup, but this isn’t your usual plastic pop for the masses. No, they have a guy playing ska, rockabilly, northen soul etc.He does requests. It is a fantastic night out, great tunes and a very interesting mix of people, who are also nicer than they look. The staff are great and you never have to wait long for a beer. Arrive about 10pm for a couple of hours of good music and beer.
If you’ve had enough of the craziness of shopping n Camden then retreat in The Elephants Head on the High Street. All sorts of people drink here, from old locals to tourists. The food is really nice and reasonably priced.
Every time I go to this pub i meet weird and wonderful people. it has a great atmosphere and you’ll meet all sorts of characters. I think every one will enjoy this pub no matter what your into. From goths to rockers every one just has a good old knee’s up. You can have a different group of people in there every night and it’s still like everyone knows everyone else. Great fun
Hadn’t gone into this pub for a few years as the last time I went in it was full of down and outs who stank of whiskey. But I went here again on a Friday night and it was ace. All quite rock n roll, Camden style (think man with proper quiff plus nose ring). Usual collection of goths etc but was fun and good atmosphere. Even had the godsquadders out in force which provided much entertainment, watching them try to convert the drunk smokers outside. They also sell absinth, in shots, if that’s your thing.
Been once, nice bottle of water..
Every time I visit Camden I seem to end up at the Elephant's Head. Just a little way down from Camden Tube station, it's a great meeting point, although it has grown on me as a great pub in general.
It's warm, there always seems to be a seat, and if you get a spot in the window, it's the best place in Camden to people watch.
