A ‘blink and you miss it’ doorway leads down stairs to this club/bar that holds a variety of nights from DJ’s, live music, art happenings, etc. The interior is a little on the student bar side but hey its a gig venue so what do you expect? They only seem to serve bottled beers here too. A lovely suprise is the ladies toilets, a haven of splendour with even a toilet attendant?! Totally out of character with the rest of the place but I guess its this quirky side to it that keep speople coming back.

This is one of those venues that you wish you visited all the time but for one reason or not don’t seem to. The décor is fabulous and does downbeat glitz in an original and un self conscious way. Drinks specials are decent value although these are not drinks you would savour more of the type to drink to get trashed. The toilets are particularly glamorous and have about twenty mirrors so you can preen to your hearts content. Smoking policy is a little intrusive – if you want to smoke you have to go and stand about twenty metres away from the venue at the bus stop. Another gripe is that when my friends band played recently they didn’t allow them an encore and were pretty sour faced however apparently they were running late so we will let them off. This venue offers a plethora of different nights and live bands and is definitely worth checking out.

I went here on the Geisha night a couple months ago, but had a great night. The music was house with 3 alternating dj's. Entrance was cheap and we were entertained with 3 dancing geisha's, it was quite funny to watch them. The atmosphere is great and if you get tired of dancing, they have giant party games like Connect 4 and Jenga. I warn you be careful at the bar though, you might grow quite attached to the rum that's 50% proof, it's not pretty in the morning!

Notting Hill's premier underground club has gone from strength to strength in the last few years, with an exceptional mix of nights which have made the club synonymous with West London cool. Funk, drum'n'bass, indie, rock and pop are only the more commercially genres catered for here - bhangra, flamenco, funk and Brazilian are also on the menu almost every week. Bands rave about the intimacy of the club - the low ceilings and tight dancefloors really do create a unique acoustic. Ravers here are only really matched at Fabric, but they're actually more concentrated at the NHAC due to the smaller capacity. It all makes for surely one of the best night-outs in London currently available, and once in a while you'll find a foreign beer for as little as £1.75 (i.e. Korea's 'Shittake') and, added with an entry fee of less than a fiver on some nights, you could do it all for as little as £20. Highly recommended.

The Notting Hill Arts Club is a fantastic venue; it works as both as bar and club. Host to a range of different events (check out their website) there is always something different going on.
The vibe there is always relaxed and fun, and unlike a lot of places, the barstaff are friendly and seem to have just as much fun as everyone else! Despite a big crowd I find that there is not too much of a wait to get a drink... and if there is, it's always fun to watch the bartenders do their stuff!!
Even the bouncers here are friendlier than anywhere else I've been. Certainly worth going back to, again and again.
