Lovely quirky little restaurant with very attentive and friendly staff.  We had the exceptionally reasonable and delicious mixed mezze.  The flavours were unbelievable and moorish and bread was supplied as soon as we'd finished the previous basket.  We had ordered mains but actually were already stuffed.  Will definitely be back.  Book your table ahead though, it gets busy!

Absolutely wonderful food, incredibly friendly (and funny!) service and really generous portions. Just go wild on mezes to share and a single main and you'll be stuffed! Veg moussaka was fantastic. My favourite, small intimate restaurant in Edinburgh.

I can't add much to the host of 5 star reviews here really, can I? Consulted Qype for a reasonably priced but decent quality restaurant for a meal out one evening, & figured I should see what all the fuss was about. All the charms are exactly as described, & our food was excellent. Took the recommendation on the Borek (spinach filo parcels) as a starter & wasn't disappointed. Lamb kebab for main was a real meat feast - just simple, perfectly cooked, well presented hunks of meat with rice & a relish. Will definitely go back.

Absolutely the best, never lets you down. The food and the atmostphere are always great and the welcome you get 2nd to none. If you want to try it you must give them plenty of notice because they are nearly always full…. that speaks for itself doesn’t it!!

I’ve been here several times and the food has always been great, attentive staff, and the prices are reasonable. Best Turkish restaurant in Edinburgh in my opinion.

Just wanted to add to the chorus of praise for Hanedan. It’s one of our favourite places to go and we’ve always eaten very well – the food is delicious, reasonably priced and you certainly won’t leave hungry. The staff are very friendly and welcoming, and the decor is simple but atmospheric, with good lighting. Even if you haven’t booked they will do their best to fit you in. The only thing I would query is the French radio station mentioned above – but it does make for an eclectic mix of music as you eat!

Returned to the hanedan for the second time last night just to see if it was as good as last time. It was. If you haven’t visited then do so asap. This is the best Turkish restaurant in Edinburgh, small, simple but the food is fantastic and very reasonably priced. The kebabs are unbelievably tasty especially the chicken. This time around we diverged from the mixed mezze starter and chose at random including favourites from last time, Borek, cannellini bean salad, meatballs and spicy sliced sausage with pitta bread and olives, followed by lamb and chicken kebabs, lovely buttery rice, a bowl of creamy cacek and two bowls of delicious chilli sauce. (last time we found one bowl a bit small for us to share so had to ask for another) The combination is fabulous. Rather ashamed to admit we succumbed to greed and had baklava for dessert. What can I say? My teeth may never recover from the sweetness but it was an experience! Can’t wait to return!

one of the best meals I have ever had - recommend the lambs liver and swordfish. Great service, good value, lovely atmosphere. I'll be back again and again

We go to Hanedan so often that we now know what to order ,
i like their borek and sujuk for starters , for mains i tried lamb in sauce it was really nice ,
prices are moderate

the only downer for me is that after 5 visits the menu feels short and you will have no more exciting choices!
