This is such a lovely park - lots of space, great sports facilities, tennis courts, a running track and more imporantly…peddle boats. Nice way to spend a sunday afternoon, and there’s even a little cafe where you can get a beer and sit by the lake.

Except for the fact that their fireworks show on Guy Fawkes’ was quite brilliant it has taken me a few visits to come to grips with Battersea Park.
It is so family orientated with playgrounds for children, bicycle and skating paths and large lawns for ball games – and there is always a friendly, playful and young feeling in the air when you visit.
It is a large park on the south side of the Thames next to the Battersea Power Station. The closest train station is Vauxhall and it is a short walk to Clapham.
It is so nice to visit a park that feels as if it is being used to its full capacity – all year round! And this is how it feels here. Any time of the year there are always people in the park, it is always looked after and in a good state though never perfect and there is always a bench or patch of grass to make yourself comfortable on and do dome people-watching.
A true surprise on the ‘wrong’ side of the river, this is certainly worth a Sunday afternoon visit.
