The Studio

The Orange Studio Rooftop restaurant was a real hidden gem and somewhere lovely, special and quiet to have a relaxed lunch.

Unfortunately, last time I tried to go (about a month ago?) the staff upstairs had informed me that the rooftop restaurant (atrium) is now closed to the public and only available for private hire/conferences etc.

What a real shame! Still, if you are planning a conference or private event, this could be just the place you never knew you were looking for! ;o)

The Orange Studio, now renamed 'The Studio’ has to be one of my favourite restaurants. I love how it’s hidden away, even though it’s right in the middle of the city centre.

It’s situated above the old Orange store on Cannon street, where there is now just an internet cafe on the ground floor. Below the restaurant are conference rooms and the restaurant sits on the top floor.

The setting is modern and the atmosphere cool and relaxing. The outdoor seating has some pretty plants decorating it and it’s really lovely to sit outside on a sunny day.

The food is good and well presented. Perhaps slightly pricey, but not unreasonable and staff are friendly and attentive too!

The front of shop is an internet cafe, not very cheap (£1 per 15mins) but pretty quick with good quality printing available. Snacks and drinks available there.

On the upper levels are training rooms and conference rooms should you want to hire them, and then on the second floor is a breezy restaurant that you find a lot of suits in come lunch time.

Again, the food is not cheap, but I remember that the food wasn't half bad, and again the extra you pay for food also goes towards the nice surrounds and atmosphere you get to eat in. Sandwiches, wraps, salads, all well presented. Light and bright venue, some indoor and outdoor seating available up there. Makes a great change from the Bella Pasta/Pizza Hut chain, or a Boots meal deal come 1pm.
