Further refurbishment work has dramatically increased the back bar area. Food and drinks are reasonably priced and the acts are fantastic. A really good night out.

Been here twice as Fym Fig and once before, when it was called the Back Yard Club. It is a comedy club owned by Lee Hurst and he compares Sat night shows here. I really don’t think you can beat this club, it is laid back but very funny. Much better than others in the centre of town and much cheaper. They do offers on pitchers of beer, and also sell spirits, wine etc. Food can be perchased for during the interval (mainly burgers and chips). Really enjoyed this place and will be coming back.

This comedy club was previously known as the Lee Hurst’s Backyard Comedy Club and recently closed down and reopened as the FymFyg bar.
Have had several very good funny nights out here. I normally enjoy most of the acts each night I go, although sometimes there is the odd one who just isn’t to my taste - well they can’t please everyone. I really advise that you reserve tickets beforehand, you are then guaranteed entrance if you arrive before a certain time.
Drinks are quite expensive and there are usually only a couple of members of staff serving behind the quite small bar so you sometimes have to wait, which can become a bit of a free for all rush during the intervals.
During intervals the toilets can get very busy, with queues out the door, but as long as you don’t mind waiting it is not a problem.
Overall it is a very funny, cheapish night out. Good in both small and large groups.

The Backyeard Comedy Club is great. It is owned by commedian Lee Hurst & he sometimes comperes the evening. Lee also does specific shows but tickets for these sell out quite quickly so you may wat to check the website for show dates.
If you just want to take your chances and buy the tickets on the night, you can arrive early & eat in the restaurant - foood is simple but very reasonable priced. Once you have finished, you can find your seats for the main event & get the beers in!
The comedy club offers quite a good discount for NHS staff so if you are one of them wonderful people who heal the sick, dont forget your ID card to take advantage of the discount!

Had a great night out here last week. With Lee Hurst comparing, and several really funny comedians (except the last guy who was just awfully dull, but then again, I was sober, unlike the majority of the others!) it was a good way to relax and have a really good night out with some mates. We reserved tickets ahead of time, and 4 of us got in for free, which was great. The drinks were average priced, as was the food (burgers at the interval - yum). Just don’t sit in the front row… ;-)

This is a great price for a great night out with some quality comediens!!
We got 2 for 1 tickets, had a table right by the stage (we had per-booked which is advisable)! The drinks were pquite pricey but everything else was so cheap that we didn’t mind. Food can be ordered before the show starts and is served during the interval - we didn’t order the food but as soon as it was being served we really regreted it. There is a very small set menu but there weren’t any complaints!!
It was a shame that on the night we went Lee Hurst was unable to make it due to illness but we had a great time and look forward to our next visit!

The Fymfyg Bar (formerly Lee Hurst’s Backyard Comedy Club) has had a makeover and change of programme. From now on there is a new roster of live music on Tuesdays and comedy on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays.
Lee Hurst has not yet left the building and still hosts a night every Saturday with his favourite comedians.

Laughter is the best form of medicine as the old adage goes, and if there's any truth to it whatsoever, then the Backyard comedy club should also be known as a health clinic.
I have visited this place five times over a period of several years and each time I go, I laugh my head off and have a wonderful time. There is something quite magical about the art form of being able to make people laugh on stage, very brave and very raw.
Owned and run by local comedian Lee Hurst, the audience is as eclectic as the comedian's themselves and when the place is packed, which it often is, the atmosphere is fantastic.
Doors tend to open from 7pm, membership is available for £1, and their are snacks available as well as jugs of beer.

I was here for my housemates birthday. We had tickets to get us in free so that was good. Its a great place. The comedian was hilarious. There were so many people there the atmosphere was fantastic. The drinks were not expensive and the food was good. You can get jugs of beer to share instead of a pint so yu don't have to get up and queue at the bar so often. We had a wonderful time. There was karaoke after and it was great fun. Listening to my friends sing when pissed was great fun.
