What an awful experience. Music was not bad but the sort of people that frequent Sound was not very pleasant. Not very sound:-(

With the no manners door staff, you get the straight instict that nothing else about this venue is good.
With their budget DJ and dirty glasses it would be recommened to drink before you arrive.
Dont be fooled by the location cause aint nothing swish about this venue.

Came here for a birthday recently, being London the drinks are going to be expensive but if you go early they usually have a few deals going on that are worth looking out for. There are 3 floors and a nice mix of music.
Careful of the balcony overlooking the dance floor some osers tend to 'accidently' spill their drink over.
Not bad but could be better, needs a fresh lick of paint, good place for a boogie and dancing your worries away!

The venue is tired looking and could really do with a makeover. The drinks are quiet expensive too.

I went to sound on 23/5/09 with my bf and it was our first time. It was different to other London nightclubs because we felt generally the atmosphere was more fun rather than tense.
We had booked our tickets in advance and had paid for them and we got treated very well- queue jump and escorted to the lift by the manager who was very nice. The club had adequate security- at least three on each floor and the bouncers seemed like they were doing a good job and were generally well mannered. We liked the way if you are not too drunk then once you are in you are free to leave and come back because your hand is marked with UV. We thought the djs were good and there was plenty of seating.
Now for the bad parts: the drinks were on the pricey side even for London which meant my bf and I spent £40 on just two rounds the cheapest drink was £4.50 for a corona, a single and mixture was just under £7.50 and 2 double vodka and diet coke came to £18. cocktails were around £10 but you got a whole glass full. We also left after only two hours- 1:30am- because it got incredibly warm and the air conditioning was inadequate. It was too warm to dance most of the time and it was very sweaty especially upstairs where it was busy. It also consisted of a lot of foreign tourists, I would say downstairs the split was more like 30/70 british to tourists and upstairs more like 50/50. we find this affected the atmosphere in the sense that club etiquette such as queuing was not obeyed. Also foreign girls are pretty jealous of attractive girls more so than british irls are in the sense that they are very vocal about it and generally spent most of the time slagging attractive girls off in their own language in toilets/ in the queues/ dance floor. I am lucky enough to speak 6 languages so I knew what they were saying lol. This made it seem a little like bullying.
In conclusion I would not go to sound again unless the air conditioning improves and if it does I may reconsider it.

This place has five floors! Big club! Make sure to take the lift if your half tipsy.
Great music across the different floors although only on certain nights will you ever find everything open. Usually floors 3 and 4 are in operation with 4th being the balcony with a nice seating area. 5th floor being the relaxing area enjoy a drink or some food in this area. General central London prices, 2 doubles cost under the £20 mark.
Prepare for a good night out, security are always watching so that’s a bonus incase a fight happens. Open till late makes this place a good place to have a long night out.

This place is perfect for a crazy night out. Had a great 21'st bday there. Staff made me feel truly special. A bit hectic but full of frindly folk and an amazing venue if you like big clubs.

Hello! I went to sound a cuple of nights ago and it has to be one of the best places for a night out in the city! its was great. I liked the design of the place and that it wasnt over crowded! the drinks were reasonable but i did have to wait a while to get served on the 5th floor. Apart from that i give it atleast 8.5 out of 10. I will be going again and again.

I just moved here, and I hate that London pubs close early…Sound is open late so my party doesn’t have to stop when the bars close down. I wouldn’t bring my boyfriend here, but its all good for a girls night out in Leicester square. The place is HUGE. Best place to dance. If you want a good drink, you’re going to spend $ (or have someone buy you one).

Sound has always been one of these clubs that me and my friend always end up wondering into on a week night. We usually start out somewhere else and we either get bored of the atmosphere and leave, or drink right up until closing time and then end up out on the London streets with nowhere to go – hence why we end up in Sound. It’s particularly easy to get into Sound, especially during the week, there’s usually no guest list and if the bouncers like you enough or if you’re prepared to do a bit of negotiating you can nearly always get in for free.
Sound has been refurbished in the last year and is now a huge four of five floored night club with different featured music on each floor. Being a Salsa aficionado, we nearly always go to the Salsa floor, where we get spun around by other salsa- heads and dance the night way. The other floor we visit once tired of Salsa-ing is the R‘n’B/Hip Hop floor. This floor is cool, me and my friend managed to make complete fools of ourselves last time we were there, not only were we the oldest two in there, but we probably danced the most and unfortunately knew all the latest dances the least! Fun!
The crowd seemed to be much younger than where I am used to going, the oldest beside myself and my friend was probably twenty years old - if you don’t mind this then go and have a dance!

I went to this club in the past and had a good night out. The sorrondings were good. on the main floor there is a chequered wall and is packed from early on in the night. I was on guest list and paid £8 to get in. We found the main floor to packed for us so we went upstairs where there is a bar, and if you walk around it you will see there is a balcony sorrounding the main floor. This is where we spent most of the night as you can hear the music well and no one was bumping into us. Drinks are fairly priced for central, and the vibe is very easy going. At one point when the music was too commercial in the main floor, we made our way to the top floor where hip hop and rnb was on. The guys as expected for a central club were a bit touchy but nothing extreme.
Therefore would recommend, however the area I wouldnt as when we were leaving, someone got bottled nearby to the club.

They are far better places in London, the music was very inconstant and muffled. The crowd was bad, people rubbing against each other in a degusting way. You have to wait too long to get served, not mentioning the walk and wait for toilets. The club is hot and smelly.
It is just a waste of money and time.
