cool! thats how my son described this place on his first visit, ten years ago, and it still gets the same reaction from most kids. you can learn loads about all kinds of sealife here, they have special sessions where you can even feed and touch(oh god!) some of the creatures. there is a huge section of tanked fish and a moving walkway that takes you under the sea(again, oh god!) staff are friendly and polite, there are classrooms where you can quiz the specialists as well as a reasonably priced cafe and gift shop. plenty of parking but its only a short walk (downhill) from the train station so i’d recommend that, you get to cross the Forth bridge :)

what a terrific day out this place is.
If you like anything to do with the sea and underwater things then this is the place to go, easy to reach by shuttle train from waverley station, get off at north queensferry and walk down the hill to deep sea world.
It has all sorts to keep everyone amused and enthralled all day from kids to adults,(but when you are there you are a big kid anyway)
The best part is the revolving gangway which takes you right out and under the water to get a panoramic view of life under the sea, with the sharks and other sealife swimming around you and over you, while you remain safe within the plexiglass enclosure. you have to go round it a few times as there is so much to take in.
there are also touch tanks with guides giving educational lectures on all things sealife.
The octopus enclosure is particularly fascinating to watch these creatures squeeze themselves through openings no wider than a toilet roll tube.
There is also a recent addition in way of a seal sanctuary, not to be missed.
amazing! Go and enjoy this place, take the kids, take your friends, go on your own, its fantastic.

This is a great place to spend the day for adults and kids alike.
They have loads to see and every so often they have special events covering anything from specific educational topics to fun weekends.

They have an excellent collection of sharks as well as many other marine species which can be seen from the underwater viewing tunnels.
They also have a seal sanctuary where you can learn all about the cute little things.

As well as marine life they also have reptiles and insects which are also used to educate.

At specific times during the day staff members give informative talks on certain species and if your lucky you may even touch some of these.

There is an on site cafe and shop so you dont have to go far from the action to have a quick cuppa

All in all this place is excellent fun and while your having fun you could also be learning something new.
EXCELLENT

Great place to spend a day with your friends or family! Only a short way by train or bus from Edinburgh this place offers a lot to the visitors.
Main attraction - one of the largest underwater tunnel in the world and a larg collection of sharks.
Other bits and pieces include: a large number of exotic fish, amphibians and of course seals. Plus a lot of things to learn (as there are special education hours - valueable especially for children) and feeding times (spectacular especially as for shark feeding when a diver feeds them from his hand!)
There is also a large cafe bistro and a novelty shop on the spot.
Great place to visit and a must for all wildlife lovers!

This was a great day out, found the cafe slightly expensive, but then you would expect that. Very informative a good fun, liked the fact that you could take things at your own pace and go around as many times as you liked. The baby dinosaur exhibit is over now, but I am sure it will be replaced by something equally as fasinating.

This is a great fun and adventur place for adults and children of all ages. They have many differant events on through the year. Check out there web page for prices and special offers. They also hold birthday parties. There is so much to do here, the time will just fly away from you before you know it.

They have two seal pools. Pool one houses their resident seals and pool two houses any injured and rescued seal pups brought to them by the SSPCA.

Check out the amazing underwater tunnel 112 metres long and holding a million gallons of water, they say the underwater tunnel at Deep Sea World is one of the longest underwater tunnels in the world.

Other exciting and educational things to see and do are 'The Amazon rainforest'. You can experience a spectacular day in the Amazon with buzzing insects, a frog chorus, bird calls, monkeys and rumbling thunder creating a unique forest symphony.

With many differant types of Shark and Fish like Piranhas, Krakatoa, Lake Malawi. With lovely Rock Pools and marine life to see and touch.

Just an amazing and magical place for all.
