Definitely a place for the locals. Everyone in this pub undoubtedly knows each other and many are recognisable by the graffiti scrawled on the walls, doors and the occasional ceiling throughout. The drink prices are pretty standard but the limited smoking area outside makes it difficult to move when you go in search of nicotine. The backward doors, wonky floors and various items of furniture, which can more commonly be found attached to the ceiling instead of on the floor make for an initial source of amusement, after your 7th or 8th drink you might find yourself wanting somewhere to sit over something to look at. Overall an interesting place to drink and definitely one of Cambridge's more unconventional watering holes.

The Run became famous in Cambridge shortly after kindred-spirit pub the Cambridge Arms underwent its big life-change: erm, back in the 1990s. The Run had a re-furb, and decked itself out top to toe BACK TO FRONT. At the time, radical. After a while - really quite annoying. There are only so many times you try pulling the Ladies' loo door as instructed under the handle, only to realise - in inebriated state, that it's a joke. Push. Pull. Or was it vice versa? Don't sodding know. That, plus its happy-camper crowd of young and aging punks, goths, ravers and well, kids - it's a veritable cocktail of fun, really. Go on ... have a cider. Upside down. I dare you.
