Definitely the greatest musical that I have ever seen (seen it in both London and New York on many an occasion).
This has everything you want from a musical, strong vocals, addictive songs, a fantastic tale of love with a dark twist and special effects that 20 years on still look amazing.
A definite must see, and if you’re feeling flush there’s no better place to sit than row 5 in the stalls, absolutely amazing!

One of the 3 plays i have seen at the theatre and this by far has to be my favourite. Its dark tone was much more suited to my tastes than we will rock you. Her Majestys Theatre is special. There is something really stunning and mesmerising when you look up at the roof whilst in the auditorium. The sound reverberates around and makes you fell like you are right in the middle of the action even when you are at the back. The tickets are very expensive but i would suggest forking out that bit extra to get the good seats.

The only musical that I have seen in London: “The Phantom of the Opera”. Oh, I 've really enjoyed it! It has been going for 22 yeras now I have learnt. When I went here I bought the CD of the London cast at Haymarket - and the souvenir programme.
Prices between: £20 und £55.
Not to be missed!

This is my favourite show - seen it three times now and love it each time. The music is so haunting and wonderful. It’s so dramatic and powerful that you become lost in the story immediately.
It’s been on at Her Majesty’s Theatre in Haymarket, London for so long now, but I would see it over and over again - long may it run!

My absolute favourite of the Andrew Lloyd Webber musicals - you’ll be singing the songs (in a very dramatic tone of voice!) for weeks afterwards. It’ll sweep you off your feet and make you gasp out loud at the great special effects.
A timeless story of love and loss, good and evil and rising above all obstacles to realise your dreams. And it just looks so fantastic. I always love the fact that the story is actually set in a theatre with gorgeous costumes and great choreography. A bit of a guilty pleasure really!

Currently being performed at Her Majesty’s Theatre, Phantom of the Opera is a musical that you absolutely have to see live in a theatre. The film was middling compared to the forceful performances on stage and the powerful voices that carry the lyrics and notes to you at perfect pitch.
It tells the story of a genius musician and composer who is facially deformed from birth that is seen as the ghost of the opera house, who takes a chorus girl and trains her for the Opera. Once an old flame recognises her on stage and re-acquaints himself with her, the Phantom becomes jealous and takes her prisoner.
As the second longest running musical in the West end and the highest earning, Phantom has many years of experience. This is telling in the polished performances and high quality acting.
Opera is not for everybody’s taste and Andrew Lloyd Webber has made it palatable. The lyrics and songs are well-known, which always raises the compassion for a musical. In the quaint setting and with the cast what they are – Phantom is an excellent option if you are toying with the idea of a musical.
