Wow how this reminds me of my childhood, rows of jars of sweets on the shelf. A must for a visit with a small child, just make sure they brush their teeth!

The Old Sweet Shop in Marlborough is amazing, definatly my favourtie sweet shop with all of the classic must have sweets. The layout is nice and the smells are delightful, definatly a shop worth visiting if you have a sweet tooth and enjoy those sweets you think that had dissapeared for good.

Great little sweet shop, chewing nuts, sweet peanuts and so on. Perfect place to relive your childhood sugar fix!

OK, but Sugar Mouse in Hungerford has many, many more sweets both in jars (no minimum weights either!) and a pick and mix range. Plus local chocolate and honey.

This newly opened shop is impossible to resist. The window is full of jars of loveliness, and you can see more inside. They have a terrific range of memories: bon bons in all flavours, cola sweets, cinder toffee, coltsfoot rock…. and loads more. It’s all in jars, and when you choose what you want it’s weighed out and served up in a paper bag. Much nicer than plastic, and better for the environment too. Of course, they can’t have anything: my mum says they are lacking a kind of humbug she remembers. But you’ll certainly find a lot you remember, and maybe a few new things to try. Prices are reasonable, and the service friendly.
