We call them the ‘devil cookie’ because they are positively sinful. I swear they blow the smell of fresh baked cookies out into the covered market to entice people.

These are the perfect cookie but even just one is a bit much. They are large and doughy and chocolaty (or whatever you choose) so really one is enough.

soft and chewy but still crisp, they are sold by weight so the larger the one you get, the more you pay but thus you can ask for a smaller one.

This is a chain so if there is one near you, give it a try.

Can’t add much else to what has already been said but YUM!

Pretty pricey at about £1.30 a cookie, so lucky you only need one of these little pieces of heaven or you’ll be violently ill. Part of a chain so if you’re hankering for a cookie with a chocloatey centre, hunt one down. But not too often.

Good cookies, but not the best i have ever had (Jones’ in Manchester wins that prize!). Ben’s is a must if you are in the covered market. Try the butterscotch cookies! Delicious!

I am not really a sweet person - i prefer savoury goods, but these cookies are reallllly good. As a post above said, they are a little expensive and i usually only buy one. However, the cookies are large and packed with dough so i usually find one is enough. They are without a doubt the best tasting cookies i have ever had. The flavours are simple but they are cooked to perfection in front of you. They are usually still fresh and warm.
Of course, being the best cookie joint in town means there will always be a que. So if you are with someone else, send them off to boots to grab whatever else your eating or drinking, while you que for Oxford’s finest cookies :)

If i were on death row and i had select my last meal, I would have 500 gram t-bone steak and one of Ben’s chocolate chip cookies. You can smell the cookies from quite a few corners of the covered market. I have fond memories of drooling over postcards and wooly jumpers as the chocolatey goodness wafted through the air.

You haven’t had real cookies until you try Ben’s.

This place is about as close to Mrs. Fields as you’re going to get and that’s not a bad thing. Strategically positioned in tube and train stations, Ben’s Cookies serves up warm, freshly-baked cookies in a bunch of amazing varieties. Great pick me up for the weary traveler.

Hand down the best cookie place in the country. Thick, chewy, and packed with different flavours, Ben’s cookies is an oxford secret that needs to get out.

located just inside the high street entrances of the covered market, a great place for mid market snacking. the 1 pound price maybe a little dear, but, trust me, the cookies are extreeemly filling

Ben's Cookies is hard to find, hidden away in the Covered Market, but is a real gem. The cookies are all cooked on the spot and there's a fair range of basic flavours. They come out warm and absolutely perfect: crunchy on the outside, gooey on the inside, like the ultimate combination of all your favourite sweet and yummy foods. The staff are friendly and the service doesn't feel rushed, despite the inevitable queue. Unusually, the cookies are priced according to weight, which removes the usual stress of hoping you'll get the big one of the bunch. They are fairly expensive; often around £1 for one cookie, but when compared to somewhere like Millie's Cookies, the taste is vastly superior, and you get more for your money than in many cafes. Try several flavours if you can, but I find one is more than enough for me as they're so gorgeously filling.
