Compliment

The George Street Odeon Oxford has a surprisingly small entrance, but is the big brother of the Magdalen Street Odeon. This hosts all the current popular films and is pretty typical of Odeon cinemas. It often shuts during the day, so getting tickets in advance can be awkward, although the internet has made this easier. It's definitely advisable to book in advance for popular films, especially at the weekend. Some films allow you to pick your seats, which means no stressing about getting there earlier in order to get a good view, although it can cause problems for people who sit in the wrong seats because they're not used to such systems. The queues move quickly and the staff are all friendly. There are definitely too few toilets, but they've done well given the limited space of the building. There's pick and mix sweets and an ice cream/milkshake stand, so plenty to keep you fed during the film. Tickets are fairly expensive, but they offer reduced prices for students, and the cost is not out of proportion with Oxford prices in general.
