This place had a very warm & welcoming feel. It has a great little beer garden round the back to take you away from Chiswick high street which was nice. I’d recommend it if you have kids as it’s family friendly although it’s not the place I’d go if I need a fill. I was pretty hungry & the roast dinner…although very nice really didn’t fill the hole & it was certainly the most expensive I’ve paid. The apply crumble was excellent but once again they are minimalist when it comes to portion sizes…Soft drinks are expensive too which is a real shame. There were no complaints about the food apart from portion sizes & price.

It’s one to avoid if you’re a big eater after a heavy Saturday night but great if you’re looking for atmosphere, good food while on a diet.

A good addition to Chiswick High Road - a pub with good food that hasn't gone the full gastro-pub route nor is part of a sterile chain. This location used to be my local for several years and i've seen many incarnations over the last decade - firstly it was a down & dirty boozer (which if i'm not mistaken was a roebuck too) then it was a Rat & Parrot, then it was a gay pub (the birdcage) and now its a gastropub. Its a great site as there's lots of room and a large beer garden to the rear. Serves a good range of ales & bitters including Fullers & Adnams. I didn't eat there, although I must say the bar snacks were awful. The chips were nice & chunky, but were partly cooked, dry and hard. But generally reviews have been good, so i'll give them the benefit. Staff were friendly and good humoured. I'd definitely return.

Roebuck in Chiswick High Road is a part of a small but growing gastropub chain that includes The Queen in Crouch End,Lots Road in Chelsea. The Roebuck is bright, friendly and a worthwhile addition to the other-wise pub, cafe restaurant heavy Chiswick High Road.
Its actually huge stretching back from the front bar to a big well lit dining area(centred around a table displaying wine) and for added pleasure on hot summery days a paved garden beyond.

When I ate there very recently I had a starter of cured Orkney Salmon which was almost Shashmi like in texture and freshness; it was set off by a sharp Dill Vinaigrette. This was followed by a Ham and Rabbit Terrine which was cooked to perfection bringing out the flavours of the two meats to perfection. A main course of of three Cumberland Sausages with creamy mash and gravy was as good as the dish gets. It was only bettered by the roast Pork from a whole Pig grilled meters away from the garden table-we enjoyed both the tender meat and the spectacle. The dessert of Strawberry and Almond is highly recommended and was just right served with a Hazlenut Ice-Cream.
At the Roebuck the wines are grouped by style and over a dozen are served by the glass. Real ales like Mauldron's Suffolk,Pride,Caledonian,Top Bananas and Adnams Regatta are listed along side the food with tasting notes- an excellent touch.
