Greenwich Market is the place to find treasures of all shapes and sizes. From Vintage clothing to retro furniture to beautiful diamonds and classic books - it is all here. There are also little food stalls dotted around so when you have bought the full collection of Harry Potter books for £13 (yes I did) you can have a munch on some Indian/Chinese/Thai/British/Carribean food. You can spend hours trawling thorugh shelves and racks of goodies so give yourself at least 4 hours to mooch. It is def. worth the time :D

it all so pretty and girly and yet i find it so LONDON!
but old london i mean. I find it really makes it feel original and actually gives a real good feeling and vibe. And personally i think its the covering and the big grey cobblestones! As the other review says…DO NOT wear heels! It will hurt when you twist your ankle.
You can get here eally easily as the DLR is only across the road really.
The Stalls on thursdays and friedays were fab, i always used to take the time to look round this on my way back from the bank/postoffice.
Loads of things to feast your eyes onto here and get your paws on!
you will get some great gifts here if you have birthdays or other events coming up. or you will get some great ideas for gifts. One way or another you will come out of here with something.
The mix is unreal. Really. You name it, you can probably find it here. But do be aware it has some sort of spell cast on it as everyone seems to buy something they don’t actually need…..just want.
Also if you are getting tired from walking there are some lovely open air and closed in cafes.
If you really have explored and enjoyed everything you can about the market then you always have the few shops Greenwich has to look around. There really aren’t alot, maybe 15? And in all honesty they are indeed shops you can find anywhere, ie, boots, superdrug, waterstones, ect ect and so and so on…
That said there is a lovely little mexican restaurant which has some extremely yummy dished that if you fancy a nice little bite for lunchh, it would definately be worth browsing the menu…....

Greenwich Indoor Market is wonderful. Yes its a tad girly but everything is so pretty. It's the hub of the Greenwich community. Hopefully the local authorities have finally reaslied this and are now keeping their grubby little mits off it.

The best bits? The food market, if you pop down at 4.30 on a Sunday everything is at knocked down prices. There's a great little 'arts collective' down one street where you can see some great work and chat to local artists. Essential Music has been replaced with another cd shop which is worth a look. Make sure you buy some cake in the new George cafe too.

As for everything else, just explore. Go where you want. Beware that you wil buy tat you wouldn't usually look at. I come back with many random things each time I go. But at least it's pretty. Not cheap though.

The outdoor market is great, but I never find anything I want to buy in here. That said, there are some great vintage shops that are always worth a look.

I know everyone moans about it being busy. But it's a tourist spot. I actually love this about the market. Except if I'm hungover, then it's a little too much to handle. But go, embrace and enjoy.

If you’re a bargain hunter who likes to hit the markets, then don’t miss this one! There is an indoor and outdoor market . The indoor has hints of covent garden to it. Food stalls, both English and European, crafts, health foods, books and jewellery. A great place for gift ideas, and if you buy health foods, the store here has everything imaginable and you can order any items they don’t have. The outdoor market is more clothes and household items. It’s great for retro 70’s and 80’s clothing and bags. The market is held Friday , Saturday and Sunday, but the food market isn’t on Fridays. Get there early to avoid the crowds!

Greenwich Marker consists of three markets: the weekend market, the crafts market and the village market. Each specialises in different products. The weekend maret specialises in retro pottery and ceramics, as well as avast array of bric-a-brac. In the Village Market, a second-hand clothes flea market mingles with Chinese silk dresses, home furnishings and lighting, cheap trendy clothes, ethnic ornaments, CDs and more.
Passing the food court you come to the covered Crafts Market, which is full of designers selling handicrafts, jewellery, home furnishings and clothes for all ages; it’s also ideal for gifts (wooden toys, model ships and plenty of accessories).
Amongst these, it’s hard to resist in the central hub of stalls, where you’ll find a delicious range of foods including breads, cakes, cheeses, olives, honeys, juices and jams.

Trading since 1700, theres not much Greenwich market doesnt have.

The greenwich market is open on weekends and you'll witness a lively and vibrant crowd as there are many tourist and residents alike. It's filled with crafts and arts from different culture, and a great variety of food. Although the place is a small one, it's packed with culture and life.

Greenwich market is held on weekends and is a great place to while away your weekend. It's not very large but it's in a covered area with a pub at one end and restaurants at the other, and it's walking distance to the Thames. What more could you want?

The market itself has an eclectic mix of food stalls, craft stalls and some stalls selling frankly bizarre stuff. The last time I went there were stalls selling olives, sausages, cheese, pies and other savouries, sweets and biscuits, Caribbean food etc. There were also really interesting jewellery stalls - all handmade from different materials including circuit boards! Perfect Christmas gift for your geeky cousin. Overall it's a quirky, interesting market with lots of good value food and craft items. Definitely worth a visit.

Greenwich market is a good mix of arts and gastronomy. It's everything you can think of - clothes, accessories, painting, creative works, bags, home decoration, handicraft, homemade food, drinks, spice, sweet, books, photos, music etc.

Enjoy the bargain and pick what you want. Christmas time will look a little more colourful as most stalls will come up with festive products on offer for shoppers.

This weekend market is great for gifts - the many stores offer a variety of products, most of which are one-offs. There are also some food and drinks stores and a few cafes/shops around the market which open during the week too. Come here for anything from nougat to clothes, badges and antiques!

Greenwich Market is located on Greenwich High Street, with its range of unusual, funky shops and decent food places. It is in close proximity to the Cutty Sark DLR station, the famous Cutty Sark itself, the University of Greenwich and Greenwich Park and its famous observatory. The Market has been going strong in Greenwich since 1700.

Greenwich Market is a covered market area located on treacherous cobblestones (do not wear heels - trainers are a must!), the market stall area is always packed to the rafters with stalls and keen bargain-hunters or lovers of the unusual on Fridays to Sundays.

The covered market area is also home to two pubs, lots of delicatessens, a fabulous jewellers and unique gift shops aplenty. These shops and pubs are open most days of the week, ‘tho check individual shops for their specific opening times.

Greenwich Market is famous for its Antiques and collectables stalls which are held every Thursday and Friday (10.00 - 17.00h); for those looking for an unusual gift or homeware items, the Arts and Crafts stalls on Saturdays and Sundays (10.00 - 17.00h) will be just your cup of tea.

Plenty of trains come back and forth via London Charing Cross (Maze Hill or Greenwich mainline) and the DLR has more regular services to Cutty Sark station; there are also a multitude of buses, just check the TFL site for up-to-date travel info.

Food and drink are plentiful so do have a little wander outside of the market area and look at all the tiny shops as you walk through to the Greenwich High Street.

Oh yes, and do keep an eye out for the hot toddy stall located right at the top of the market, next to the old-fashioned sweetie shop. Heavenly stuff when you’re shopping in the winter.
