Review of Scoopaway from 2 October 2010

This place is excellent, and will save you money. You will never buy jars of branded spices again after you have been here, nor will you have to put up with cinnamon older than your children. I also recommend the beans and pulses, dried fruits, cereals, and just about everything else they sell. And what nice staff - a credit to Bristol's best local shopping street!

Review of Scoopaway from 25 November 2008

This shop is the absolute tops for bulk dry goods. That doesn’t sound the most appetising of labels but if you’re like me it is mecca for anyone whole likes cooking the old fashioned way. It’s also a fantastic way to reduce unnecessary packaging and in my household the plastic bags get gratefully re-used on those dog walks. I digress . . .
A wide range of herbs, spices, flours, coffees, cereals, dried fruit, legumes, pastas, rices, sweets and on and on. There is also a good stock of traditionally packed items including dairy products, eggs, tinned food, etc. A solid selection of toiletries, vitamins and supplements are also squeezed into this small shop. That leads me to my one wish - please knock into the shop next door or something because it can get like grid lock on a Saturday.

If you love your food and you’re like me and hate over packaged food then this is a great find. Incredible range of health foods and organics, brilliant staff and best of all you can scoop and pay by weight. Once you’ve been there you will be hooked.

if you’re looking for organic food in bristol this must be the best place to go. a small shop crammed with pulses, seeds etc. it is well priced and competes with at least two other organic food stores close by (so shop around!). I’m not a big organic food shopper but this is usually my first choice of the 3 I know

Review of Scoopaway from 8 December 2007

Shopping in Scoopaway is a great way of getting your healthy food for healthy prices. They specialise in "loose" goods, so you can bag up what you want and pay a fraction of the usual cost as your avoiding all that costly packaging that usually accompanies our groceries and congests our landfill sites. Some of the many, many products available are cereals, quinoa, lentils, cous-cous, pulses, flour, TVP mince, nuts, dried fruit, herbs, tea and coffee.

Scoopaway also has a choice of chilled natural and organic products and some in tins, jars and bottles. They have an excellent range of homeopathic remedies and vitamins as well as stocking eco friendly beauty and hygiene products. I'm always amazed at how much I get here for so little!

Review of Scoopaway from 11 November 2007

Scoopaway is a well extablished feature of the fantastic shopping street in Bristol known as the Gloucester Road. Main feature of Scoopaway is the help yourself to dry goods style shopping where grains, cereals, rices, spices, herbs, sugars, dried fruits, nuts etc etc are all held in huge bins and the customer weighs out required amount.
The staff are exceptionally friendly, and open to ordering specific goods if you require. A good range of organic and fairtrade goods are on offer along with gluten free and soya alternatives. Also stocks vitamins, minerals and eco toiletries.
