I used to live around the corner from La Porchetta. I’ve never really had issues with my weight, but this excellent little pizzeria might have changed all that had I lived in the area much longer. I’m now not as far north and, although my current local pizzeria is every bit as good in terms of quality, they’re just not that friendly. Which is something of a relief to the straining waistbands of my jeans, because it means one has less of an incentive to go.

I probably don’t need to draw you all a detailed picture, because just about every square half-mile of London has one of these. Ingredients are fresh, the dough is light and crisp, the menu has a reasonably standard selection with several more outre offerings for the adventurous - if pizza for dinner could ever be termed adventurous - and you get a big fat bike wheel-sized serving at a very reasonable price. I toyed with 5 stars but have since decided that I’m being far too generous. So 4 it is.
