Got to be the best place to buy a bike or accessories. Staff are very helpful and give really good advice, even if you don't have much knowledge on bikes or are not quite sure what you're looking for. Staff always ask if you need their help which is really welcoming and friendly. They have a wide range of bikes and parts to order. They also offer great services such as a free service on your new bike a month after purchase.

This is probably the busiest and most popular bike shop in Edinburgh. If you need anything to do with bikes these guys will have it and if they dont they will know where to get it.
The staff are friendly and extremely helpful and the mechanics know what they're doing, I know guys who have gone there for years and wont go to any other bike shop.

Pretty much the top place you'll find for anything quality and bike-related. I know people who come up from London to visit this shop, and that's clearly saying something.
They have their own brand as well, if you're looking for top, top quality at a fraction of the price of your usual new equipment. For instance, I recently bought their Country Traveller touring bike (their brand-name is Revolution, by the way - tagline "will not be motorised"!) for £400, whereas my cycling aficionado friends assure me i'd be paying well into the three figures for, say, a Specialized equivalent.
They have a pretty good workshop too, but work on an appointment-only basis, and are extremely popular, so remember to book.
Other than that, all the staff are highly-trained (or at least highly knowledgeable), very willing to give advise and suggestions, and very rarely prompting you to buy the most expensive item on offer. Couldn't recommend the place more, even if you don't live in Scotland.
