Wonderful place that really stands out in Raynes Park. Although, I guess with a starbucks now RP is coming up in the world and this is the sort of place will be the norm.

Well, if two places rolled into one is the norm. Olive Garden is a lovely little cafe type place but rather pricey with full on large meals. It stand out on the street because it is one of thos independent we all should love.

I have had pasta there once and cake and coffee twice and the service is always first rate. I would recommend as the nicest cafe in Raynes Park by a country mile.

Had a great risotto and veal and spaghetti here but the pizzas are pretty average and relatively expensive.

Staff are friendly and very child-friendly but probably wouldn't eat here very often if there was more choice in Raynes Park...

Wow I could not have a better meal than Poppy, whilst I agree that some of the "mains" are a little on the steep price the Pasta and Pizza dishes are excellent value - portions are huge, in fact a little too big.

I'll be back.

Being a big fan of the Garden Cafe (next door, and part of the Olive Garden) and a supporter of local restaurants over high-street chains, we took our son here for a celebratory luncheon - his choice - just after it first opened, in September 2007.

The decor itself has been charmingly fitted out, dark wood tables and quite a dark interior - presumably for atmosphere - with the bar at the back of the restaurant. In the evenings, it opens up to include the Garden Cafe to accommodate more diners.

The prices seemed a bit steep for the fringes of London but we thought we'd offer our support and give it a go. Pasta and pizza dishes are from around £8 up to £17, with wine and drink prices also more pricey than we anticipated.

Service was slow, despite there not being many tables full so late in the lunch-period. To our surprise, we were fairly disappointed with our dishes when they arrived. The pasta was very salty, as was the pizza dishes - and they weren't enormous portions, as you may expect from a place in hot competition with some fabulous local restaurants in the area. They also managed to put ice in drinks when we had specifically asked for "no ice"; only a little thing, but whatever happened to 'the customer is always right'?

Polite to a fault, we murmured that everything was "fine" during our meal. Wanting to dash off as quickly as possible, we then had to wait 15 minutes for our bill!

Sadly, we won't be returning to this restaurant - we feel its overpriced for the area and the food just really isn't up to standard. However, it is always very busy when we walk past so do try it for yourselves.
