Review of Bishop Gore School from 26 October 2008

Both my children attend Bishop Gore. My daughter started Year 7 a few weeks ago and has settled in incredibly well (she was the only pupil from her primary school to go to Bish Gore so we were a little worried).

My son is in upper 6th and has been very happy there (well, as happy as any child who has to go to school!). His GCSE results were very good and I know I have the staff to thank for much of his success. They have always kept a close eye on him and have been quick to nip any lazyness in the bud!

I would highly recommend the school to any parent who is currently in the decision-making process.

Review of Bishop Gore School from 13 November 2007

I attended Bishop Gore School or Ysgol Esgob Gore, between the ages of 13-16. I had been yoinked out of another school as it was too expensive and not worth it and thrust into the hands of a comprehensive mixed state school.

It turns out the facilities at Bishop Gore were better than at my previous school, but that’s not saying much for either. For all the woes of having to move school mid-year I actually quite liked this one. Entirely in retrospect.

As far as I know it’s a pretty good school in a nice area, right next to huge Singleton Park. There are large playing fields, a swimming pool and wonderful things like a kiln for firing clay. You’d never get all that in a London state school. I loved the kiln. I made a clay shoe, it’s great.

There’s a sixth form, which I didn’t attend but I know is good as many of my friends did. All in all it wasn’t so bad and I came out with a whole bundle of GCSEs as did many of my peers.
