I just saw Stockholm here on Saturday. Beautiful and intense piece of theatre, I highly recommend it. It explores love in it’s not so happy days. It’s around for one more weekend if you catch this review in time.
The theatre itself is quite small, so any seat in the house is good. Probably sitting halfway back from the stage is best, as the actors are still clear as a bell, but you’re not looking up at them. Though I hear that the online booking system doesn’t let you choose your seats. Despite being small, the production values for Stockholm at least were very high with quality sets and lighting.
We had a pre-show chocolate croissant and tea. I wasn’t expecting much, but the chocolate was nice and intense. They stop serving fancy coffees/drinks 30 minutes before the show, but you can still grab a quick cuppa. There aren’t too many seats upstairs near the bar, but there are more if you wander downstairs. Quite comfy little leather sofas upstairs.
Afterwards you can have a drink at the cafe or wander back to Swiss Cottage station (2 minute walk) and have one at the actual Swiss cottage. We saw several groups from the theatre sitting around discussing the play.
