I’d agree with all the other reviewers’ comments about the decor/appearance, however wanted to add that the Pad Thai is one of the better ones in London I’ve tried, and only £6!

I’m in accordance with the other reviewers that this isn’t the place to come for the glamour or superior comfort of the restaurant. However, it does rate highly for the speed and kindness of the service and significantly for the super-delicious and authentic Thai dishes, at surprisingly decent prices.

It’s a great place for a fast and warming lunch, on a bracing windswept day, for little more than the comparable cost of an unremarkable sandwich elsewhere. There’s a buzzing, yet chilled, atmosphere here in the evenings; every dish I’ve tried from Pad Thai to curry and rice has been fresh, tasty, filling and hasn’t disappointed.

I’ve been working in Richmond for over a year now and only recently discovered this Thai restaurant, and that was because someone else suggested it. As the previous review says, the exterior doesn’t do it any favours, but perhaps they get enough custom not worry about it.

I opted for the prawn red curry here. It’s really unusual for me to finish every single morsel of a Thai curry, as I tend to leave the non-meaty bits, but I took it as a sign of skilful cooking that I ate every last bamboo shoot.

I’d have given this place four stars, except that the green curry was off the menu. A pretty major omission for a Thai place, I reckon.

An oddly named restaurant on Richmond Hill, the 'Richmond cafe Thai cuisine' is plain looking, and with the quality and variety of places to eat in the area, one could easily pass it by without a second glance. However, this would be a horrendous mistake, as it does not have the reputation as serving some of the finest Thai food in London for no reason. An excellent value menu (make sure you savour what the lunch menu has to offer) and wonderful, authentic thai food. The staff are all thai themselves, and if you walk past after-hours you will doubtlessly see them laughing together over plenty of the cafe food. In my opinion, this is as sure a sign as any that it's top notch grub..
