really nice

Cuba Libra is great fun. There are outside seats in the summer and in the winter inside is a small friendly casual restaurant (although restaurant seems like the wrong word to use- as it is much less formal). The food (I always have the tapas selection) is brilliant. You select 5 different types of tapas from a huge list including many vegetarian options and they bring them all out together- they are all delicious. The cocktails are great (and there are often 2 4 1 promotions) and usually by the end of the night there are a few people up dancing in the bar at the back to some funky Cuban beats.

The first time we went to Cuba Libra my partner and I were impressed with the lovely cocktails and meat platter so we decided to go back for more.
We came back on a very quiet night with some friends. We just wanted a few drinks and possibly a snack, but not a full meal. The bar was busy and there were nowhere to sit so we asked if we could sit in the restaurant area, which was virtually empty. The answer was “NO it is for people who want dinner!!!” we suggested as it was empty that we could sit down until it got busy. The answer was NO again. We decided that we did not want to give our business to people who did not want it so we left and have not been back since.
What a shame that the inflexibility of staff can ruin what would probably had been a nice night.

Good tapas and mojito’s are delicious…also greaet value with 2 for 1 on a week day before 8pm! get in!
