Love this place!!!! Always great nights out to be had whether you want dance, disco or death metal. Sound can occasionally be hit or miss but in general I would really rate this place.
The Opera House is without doubt the best club in the bournemouth area. Over the years it’s played host to the worlds biggest DJ’s and quite a few mammoth live bands too. During my first year at uni it had Slinky on every Friday and they were always nights that had to be seen to be believed, unfortunately they stopped Slinky after the re-design but I hear it’s made a triumphant return finally.
The venue itself is reminiscent of Brixton Academy or Koko with it’s high ceiling and just general old-age.
If you’re a student, resident or just in the area for a short trip, you must check it out!

Fantastic club great music great special nights, and dane nights and one of era nights and fantastic promotions. Not to far from a taxi rank either. As with most clubs this can be crowded but is completley safe.

I have a mixed view on the new Opera House since its refurbishment… A Lot of the seating has been removed and the large sweeping staircase down to the dance floor doesnt exist any more which is a shame. I, and my friends, feel that the 'wow factor’ has disappeared which is a shame. There is no smoking area out the back so large numbers of people gather out the front and Lerryn is right, its not very pleasant unless you’re with a large group of friends.
They are cracking down on the dealers though which is great. It feels a bit safer in there now. The music is still as brilliant as ever and since its refurbishment there is a lot more variety in the performances and shows that they offer. I’ll still be going to Slinky and Paul Weller was fabulous!

I used to go here weekly for many years, and then it closed down for a transformation. A bad thing everyone rumoured at the time, and would never be the same.
Well let me tell you that The Opera House is something else, and the transformation since it has been reopened is incredible. It has shaken off it’s bad reputation, dusted off it’s inner beauty, and shines through like it once did decades ago thanks to time, money, effort and vision from the owners.
A credit to Bournemouth, and well worth a visit for one of the many high profile gigs, nights out, clubbing etc. A little outside Bournemouth centre, but only a short cab ride.

This is one of the best nightclubs in Bournemouth. It is a live music venue as well as hosting dance nights and the occasional talent show.

This venue has an amazing atmosphere. There are seats on the upper level to justify the 'opera house' status, but when it's a standing gig, the whole upper level is blocked off by big black drapes, making the place seem genuinely smaller. The stage is quite low, but I've never seen an overly crowded gig here, so it's easy to get right up front and groove with the band.
