Was at the Parlotones gig here in 2009. Atmosphere was good but it's really too small for me. Gets 4 stars for the acts it attracts, would have given it 2 otherwise.

Had the privilege of going to watch my Daughter perform here She was great and so was the venue.
This place has been described as small, and as a public space, the only things smaller would be the changing rooms at Marks and Spencer.
Do not let this put you off, the class of acts that get to perform here would do justice to any international stage, and indeed, many of them do just that. The place is friendly and well managed. Just get there early and don’t be too possesive over your personal space. When I got there late once, they couldn’t let me in 'cos it was full. I did offer to strip naked and grease myself with cookin’ oil, but they said that they couldn’t let me do that as it was a cold night.
burma_shave Luna, I would oblige, but have you seen the price of oil these days….....And I’d need a lot.

Tiny venue. Great acts. Get there early to get a decent place or you’ll get squashed!
I've never seen as small a venue attract such acts. This 'venue' is smaller than your average pub, so when artists like Wishbone Ash and Hugh Cornwall are invited to play, it gets very, very crowded. It is a great supporter of local bands, having hosted several emerging bands nights. The shape of the venue may prevent some from seeing the tiny ground level stage when it packs out. When music isn't playing, it serves as a nice pub.
