P.Kingham Ltd in Croydon. One of the worst car repair experiences I have had in 35 years of motoring. Firstly, my VW Passat was booked for Tuesday and, when I arrived on Tuesday, they said the car was booked for Thursday. I swallowed this only to realise later on that I should have taken this as a warning not to come to this place again; regrettably, I did. Secondly, the car electrician, who was locating a fault in one of the electrical circuits, trashed into many pieces the whole interior light module, which is located under the cabin roof over the front seats. After that he tried to convince me that the module has fallen apart on its own because of the plastics ageing! The plastic bits were as solid as brick and all the damage done to the module was clearly showing that the person who tried to take it out did not have a clue how to do this correctly (one just needed to unscrew two half-hidden screws and the module would simply fall out). Thirdly, after working on the car for almost half-a-day (I paid £350 for this) the electrician said he still had no clue how long it would take to identify the cause and to complete the repair – perhaps, one more day or perhaps two. Two weeks later the third party electrician (a WV specialist), who sorted out all the electric faults in my car within just one hour, said most of the work the P.Kingham Ltd electrician did was not needed at all. This means in this case the P.Kingham Ltd electrician either was completely incompetent or intentionally tried (and succeeded in this) charging me £300+ for the work which was not required at all. In addition, while the car was ‘repaired’ (saying "trashed" would be more correct in this case) by P.Kingham Ltd electrician, someone left a deep penny-size dent on the rear left door of my car; the metal was bent in like someone hit the door with a heavy metal object (e.g. a wrench).  Obviously, the electrician claimed he had not noticed anything! The garage offered me to sort the dent out “in some time” (i.e. a week or two after) but I opted for taking my car away from that place immediately and to never come back just to make sure these people do not have a chance to trash it any further. Be warned: incompetent receptionist, incompetent electrician thinking customers have no brains, while the garage is claiming to be “an approved service centre for VW”! BTW, some of the pre- or post- service cars are routinely kept by this company on narrow public road (i.e. clients' cars could be damaged by people/cars passing by) because of the lack of the dedicated parking at the garage. AVOID.

Great garage, they won the daily telegraph golden garage competion last year and it shows. Keith Kingham and his team really go the extra mile , you won’t be disappointed in my opinion.
