Edinburgh’s biggest leisure pool. Don’t come here expecting to swim any lengths! It’s all splashing and sliding, currents and flumes, fountains and bubbles and a whole lot of fun.
There’s a wave machine in one area that can wash you right out of the pool if you’re not careful. Then there’s quieter shallower areas for parents with little ones and non-swimmers.
You seem to get a long time in the pool for your entrance fee, I usually end up coming out before time because I’m turning into a prune.
Children aged nine and over can go in unaccompanied.
The pool loses points because it’s only open Friday to Sunday during school term times (7 days in the school holidays), so we can’t take our wee one during the week.

Although its is family orientated it has unsex showers and changing rooms and whilst taking young children here once I was sexually assulted. It has very poor security and procedures in place for incidents like these. I would hate to see it close down as there is no where like it in edinburgh however I think better measures have to be taken especially for the area that its in and how busy it is in the holidays and weekends. I know that my experience is uncommon I just wish to make people precausious with the unisex changing ect as you dont think about it till it happens to you, it sounds totally paranoid but when changing/showering keep an even closer eye on your children.
I really hate to post such a negative comment I hope people will find it useful rather than scary, I dont post it to make people paronoid or stop going. However the more people that complain about the shower and changing situation the more likely they are to change it and make it an even better place for everyone.

The City’s largest leisure pool where you and your family can go onto the Flumes the River run, play with water Cannons or in the Waterfalls.
There is also the wave machine and Lagoons or Spa pool.
You will also find The Island and a Multi Sensory Play Area both designed to be mentally and physically stimulating as well as being loads of fun with a tempting ball pool.
Great fun for the kids though it can be a bit expensive if there are four or more of you and you are timed so can cause a few grizzels when it is time to leave, but on the whole not a bad way to speand a few hours.
RULES
From nine years old a child can enter Leith Waterworld unaccompanied. There must be at least one adult in the water supervising one child of four years and under at Leith Waterworld. There must be at least one adult in the water supervising two children between five and eight years at Leith Waterworld.
