Luxury accommodation in a beautiful riverside setting. The building is interesting not least for its history as the set for “St. Iranians” and other films. Dinner very nice if a bit short of vegetables. Not a budget hotel but ideal for a special treat.

We went there for a relaxing w/e and because we got a really good deal incl 3 course dinner. The rooms are traditionally decorated aka deep reds, gold etc. The grounds are beautiful and on the river. The hotel has 2 electrical boats you can rent - £40 for an hour. Afternoon tea on the terrace was great, but not cheap.(Think it was £22 incl Champagne) The dinner in the restaurant was good too, but the service in all outlets was a bit slack. We enjoyed using the swimming pool, sauna, steamroom and last, but not least, the Powerplate (!) in the gym.

This is a lovely 4 star hotel in Windsor - but do note that it is not central Windsor - it is on the Maidenhead road by the river. However I think the hotel do offer a minibus service into Windsor.
The bedrooms are either in the main house ( more traditional ) and in the new wings - the newer bedrooms are really large.
They also have a 9 hole golf course which is free to guests and also a swimming pool I wouldn’t call it a spa as such as it is really a pool and gym etc but ticks boxes!
Definitely a summer treat!

I have only been to the spa at the hotel and I have to say it doesn’t live up to the rest of the place.
The therapist seemed totally disinterested and a bit slapdash which was really disappointing. You do get access to the gym, sauna and pool though which is lovely and they provide a dressing gown and towels.
I got to have lunch as part of the spa day package. I was seated out of the way practically in a corridor so was made to feel like a poor relation. The food was nice though with big portions.
Some guests were turned away for lunch while I was there because they hadn’t booked…the man was furious as the staff weren’t very helpful - they had a big conference party in who seemed to take preference, although the restuarant was empty at the time.
The hotel looks fantastic though and is in lovely grounds.

I/We went for very different reasons to staying there. We went because it was Frankenfurters pad in The Rocky Horror Picture Show (1974) and also for many Hammer Horror films including The Curse of Frankenstein and The Plague of the Zombies, Murder By Death, Hound of the Baskervilles [Peter Cook and Dudley Moore version]) and as St Trinians ..due to it’s location next to the film studio at Bray. It was also the Gothic mansion in HP Lovecraft adaptation Die, Monster, Die (aka Monster of Terror), with Boris Karloff.
(Famous poem the Vicar of Bray.)
Oakley Court was Victorian Gothic folly that lay for many years in a state of disrepair before being used as movie sets. It is now a hotel as said in other reviews..no elevator, no glass monster dome…
We wandered around the grounds, and stood taking photos of the front, when a smartly dressed concierce came over to us. Huh OH here we go..kindly remove yourselves from the premises??? Instead he said Rocky Horror? Hammer? Both?
He took us in the foyer and gave us leaflets on the film location history and history of the building. We were also allowed (make it quick) to photo each other sliding down the banister and hanging over it like Magenta.
And so a weird and freaky bunch of nerds had a very happy experience. I keep meaning to go stay.

I have been to Oakley on two occasions - both for formal dances and i really enjoyed the location. Oakley Hotel is set in beautiful grounds. Really beautiful. You could get lost just rambling around the trees. It is best to visit here is the summer and pray for good weather cos the scenery is beautiful! The hotel itself is large and beautifully decorated. It feels like a stately home! The staff are lovely and very friendly. It has a good position near to Windsor and is in a very peaceful setting. The prices of food and drink are not cheap, but then it fits the location. If you want a cheap meal and drink head into windsor or slough town central.

I was taken here as a treat by my boyfriend for a relaxing weekend break last Winter. It was booked through lastminute.com and I understand this hotel often does really good deals for a last minute get-away somewhere a bit special. The gothic buildings set amongst misty lawns which roll down to the River Thames make this a really romantic retreat. Our room was sumptious and spacious and there were lots of nice touches I hadn't seen at other hotels like the option to choose the sort of pillow you wanted - this meant for a very sound night's sleep indeed! The hotel has a quiet pool and sauna area too and is a convenient distance from Windsor with all it's many attractions.
