Stepping down into Waxy O’Conners is like stepping through into a microcosm, worlds away from you’ll find yourself considering “The World Outside”. It’s eclectic and characterful, occasionally a live band, and everyone has their favourite spot.

If Alice had needed a beer to settle her nerves after the Mad Hatter’s tea party - you can imagine that this is the kind of pub you’d find in Wonderland.

For mid-week drinks this place is hits the spot. Saturday nights do get busy, and I’d even go as far as using the term “rammed”.

This pub sports a good crowd, good staff, great location, and brilliant design.

Yes - the tree in the centre of the ub is the oddest thing you’ll encounter but don’t let that stop you wandering. Check the bathrooms out too as well as all the various hiding places around the bar. It has cosy areas as well as a couple of main gathering areas.

I found it got crowded quickly and it was hard to move around and once the live music started in the balcony area over the sunken bar, it was impossible to hear anyone but what the heck - the atmos was amazing!

Well it's huge quite frankly - I can't think of a bigger pub I've been to in London, or in fact anywhere come to think of it. But despite it being so big, it can have quite an intimate feel as it has lots of little nooks and crannys and would appear to have been designed by a madman at first glance but it all actually really works to give a venue big enough to get as many people as you like in, but small enough to gossip quietly in the corner.

Good atmosphere overall, though it can get really quite busy and you're a braver man than me if you try and get in there on St Patrick's day.

Oh yes, and it's already been said but there's a tree in the middle, which is a bit odd but does give it something rather unique!

All I have to say about this, the one reason I like it so much, which you'll think is strange... it has a massive tree in the centre of it!! It's not real but it's so cool. The drink prices are good, but it does get very busy, so get there early. It is a pub with a really nice atmosphere.

With 4 bars over 11 floors (although some of them are v v tiny) waxys is a great irish bar with loads of energy and atmosphere. its near picadilly and leicester square but if you go in the week and in the afternoons its not too busy.however best avoided on a satturday night unless you dont mind a wait, and dont even contemplate st patricks day!!
The interior is really original and each room is themed from the tree room to the church room where you can drink your drinks from traditional church benches.Theres 11 floors to explore however some of them are very small and cosy and perfect for a small group to enjoy a drink by the fire.
The food is good too and available all day, and theres a good choice of irish beers not just guiness!!
Its a agreat place with a good theme and they have managed to avoid it being cheesy, its a must see!!
