Schokoladen

Schokoladen is a good place to go and see bands in an intimate setting. It's one of those Berlin "flavour" placed that the city should be trying harder to hiding onto.

Beer for 1,60 Euro. Berlin alternative charm. A theater in the backyard. This is what makes Berlin so interesting. Hope they can keep this place!

Schokoladen is a complete dump - I'm happy they're closing soon! Tonight, when I was there, the barman, who was smoking, put a slice of lemon in my drink with his bare hands - the same hands he handles the cash and wipes his arse with - Disgusting!

I was there to see two fantastic bands and as charge carer for my schizophrenic buddy. There were two chairs in the main room - I sat on one but was asked to get off by the errrr... Charmer on the door, while it was placed near the merchandise table and not used at all!

I'm 50 years old and have spondylitis - why on Earth did this dim-bulb flush me off the chair? - 'cause this place is utter classless dive!

great place to see a show. you can’t really get more intimate than this. i saw Cortney Tidwell here a year or so ago. very quaint and comfortable with a kind of timeless charm in the decor. it’s probably great just to grab a drink as well, but i don’t live around the area so i’m only there for concert performances.

Had a really fun time here seeing a couple local bands, the Not Amused and the Bottrops. Cover was way more reasonable than SO36 but that makes sense since it’s a small place. With a lot of character. Good neighborhood with White Trash and Last Cathedral a 5 or so min walk away.

I found this a great place to hang out boozing until the early hours on my recent holiday to the German capital. Berlin certainly isn’t short on cool bars and this one fits the bill. The night I was there had a great bill of music and a good mix of people creating a genuine buzz. My incompetence at German did not feel highlighted due to a mix of languages being spoken.

The drinks were cheap (Compared to London) and the staff were very friendly…and slightly drunk! (in the best possible way!)

place is great, no doubt. nice inside, decent selection of liquids wierd asrse bands playin. all kinds of freaks around. a generally nice den and worth a visit if not 5.
