As stated by others a superb alternative ale house. Dark and scary just the way the customers like it. Vey helpful bar staff to advise on the intruiging and ever changing ale range. Watch out for the real ciders. they will hurt your head.
Famously venerated in the classic ale book “The longest crawl” keep an eye out for the bus spotters and other human like creatures that hide in the shaddows.
Best Juke box in the North West as long as you believe Joe Stummer is a god amongst mortals.
No grub. No parking. No idiots.

Aaah, the venerable Yorkie. House of joy. House of pain. Ale of distinction. Staff and management of congeniality. Clientele of honour. Music of excellence. One of me rums purrrlease…

The Yprkie is a great rockers style pub. With a great selection of ales, and ciders on draught it is a great place for real ale types.

A great pub. I've played there hundreds of times over the last 10 years, and can't wait to see Trembling Bells there in December.

The Yorkshire House, affectionately called the "Yorkie" is one of the few alternative pubs in Lancaster. It uses its upstairs space to hold live music gigs promoting local bands and attracting some smaller international groups too. It has a great atmosphere and is packed at the weekends - it is quite small though! It has a small beer garden where smokers convene in winter. The bar stocks a wide range of beverages including rums, whiskies and ales. The staff are friendly and well known by the customers, the majority of whom are regulars. There is a mixture of students and rockers. You can buy test tube shots of Jagermeister for £1 and they serve Absinthe providing you with sugar and teaspoons too. When it gets cold the fire is started and you can relax with friends listening to Johnny Cash on the jukebox.
