I am afraid i do not get the whole subway craze. I think if you review one you are reviewing them all. They are a chain and are very static.

Okay, they are a good change from the fast food joints - but why not go to a little cafe or a pub or a lunch deal at a restaurant?

So - you pick the type of bread you want: Plain, chessy, italian herb etc, then you pick the size: 6’’ or footlong, then you pick your filling and whether you want just the sandwich or the meal (which includes a drink and a bag of crisps or a cookie).
The fillings range from ham and cheese, tyriaki chicken … to the un-doubtful most popular meatball mariana. I have tried about 4 flavours and have never been impressed. Although the meatball came close.
The problem is the bread is just SOOOOOOOOOO bready! Not sure if that makes sense… but its too much bread! And i love bread! But this is too much. And it always tastes bland to me.

I didnt think i was picky and i have really tried to enjoy subway, but i am sad to say that unless there really was no other option i would not have one again. I would prefer to pop into KFC.

Subway is a great alternative to other fast food cafes and appeals to a wide range of people. The basic idea is that you get someone else to make your ideal sandwich. You start by picking the size of the sandwich: they're all soft baguette style, so you go for 6-inch or foot long. I find the smaller one fills me up, but most guys I know go for the larger one and demolish it within minutes. Then you pick your bread style: the honey loaf is my favourite, but they're all delicious. There are various combinations of filling displayed on a board, and there really is a good variety, from cold meats to cheese, to the yummy Italian chicken, to meatballs! Yes, you really can get meatballs and melted cheese in a sandwich. Excellent. Once you've got the main filling sorted, you pick which salad items you'd like - you literally point at as many as you like and watch your sandwich being stuffed with them. This is followed by the sauces - a great relief for ketchup-lovers like myself. If you've picked something that can be heated, they'll blitz it in the microwave for a few seconds for you, so your cheese melts or your meat heats up. There are some really good meal deals, where it can sometimes cost something like 5p extra to get a drink. Sub of the Day is also worth looking out for - it's basically just one of the normal sandwiches which is on offer that day. A good way of sampling flavours you're not sure about. You can get crisps, drinks and cakes at the till, then either sit in to eat or take it away. I am slightly dubious about just how much healthier the sandwiches are than normal junk food, but it's certainly quick and easy and very tasty.
