I always end up coming out of here with a quirky t shirt. They have some nice items.

You'll have absolutely no idea why you set foot inside Urban Outfitters at first, given that it's the kind of shop which seems to sell everything and nothing. All the same, you may very well find yourself walking out with a couple of bags full of strange and interesting tat you just happened across while casually browsing.
Urban Outfitters stocks a vast range of clothing, books and bric-a-brac that appeals to those trying to come across as hip and trendy. Huge swathes of their stock cries out "if you're cool, you'll buy me" despite the fact that realistically speaking you could probably pick it up elsewhere for a fraction of the price, if you were only willing to look for it.
I can't recommend going to Urban Outfitters for anything specific, but if you are confident you have the willpower to resist going overboard on impulse spending, it's worth a quick browse if for no other reason than getting an idea of what's considered 'hip' at any given nanosecond in time. You may also pick up a gift idea or two, given the sheer variety of goods on offer here.

Urban Outfitters has been very popular in the US for about ten years, but just making a strong appearance in Britain in recent years.
Known for trying their urban little hearts out to be as trendy and quirky as possible, they achieve it and manage to make shoppers feel cool just by association.
Of course, you'll pay an arm and all three legs for the privelege, but they do play some great tunes while you shop.
The Brum UO is no exception, and is quite a large specimen of Urbanity (these Urban jokes getting old yet?). The downstairs is all clothing and a few home wares and accessories.
Upstairs is mostly homewares, house and kitchen and bedroom stuff.
UO has some really unique things, and is a great shop if you're looking for a gift for someone hard to buy for, or with really different tastes. All the clothes are pretty cute, always a bit on the ugly side to make you feel that much hipper.
The homewares stuff is just really kitschy and slightly bizarre -- lots of throwbacks to previous decades, with 1940s and 50s bakeware and aprons, 70s bell bottom shaped mugs, and 80s microchip clocks, etc.
A fun shop to have a browse in, but if you want to buy, be prepared to part with a lot of cash. True to UO too-cool-for-skool style, all the staff at the Brum UO are all busy looking busy and being dismissive.

If you’ve got a buy a gift for the person who has everything (and a taste for quirky things!) then this is the place to go shopping! Its got men and women’s fashion, as well as home furnishings, general gifts, fun books (like the art of making tea!) and music.
I am saving up for the old fashioned telephone they sell in there - its gorgeous but a bit on the pricey side!
This is somewhere I’d love to go shopping on a regular basis for clothes etc but I can’t really afford it - thats why its perfect for gifts at birthdays or christmas time.
Just off new Street, this is in the middle of Birmingham’s shopping area, and pretty well inbetween major bus stops and New Street Station.

A great store with clothes that are a bit different from other places. You’ll be less likely to bump into someone wearing the same thing as you from here (unlike clothes from Topshop!). I also think that the clothes here tend to be better made. If you’re looking for something trendy it’s definately the place to go. It has your whole outfit sorted with shoes, jewellery, sunglasses, tights, jeans, dresses etc. Some items are quite expensive but it’s well worth a look especially if they have a sale on. Upstairs also has a large gift selection full of quirky and fun things. There is plenty of space and so even during Saturdays its quite nice to browse around although the queue for the changing rooms can get quite long!

Urban Outfitters is the coolest fashion retailer around! It stocks premium rate brands and labels, as well as vintage pieces. Fantastic for the passionate fashionista or if you’re looking for something quirky and unique.
Also great for gifts and homewares, with a retro/quirky touch.
It’s not the best place to shop if your a poor student like me though! BUt fun to just browse.

Urban Outfitters is a fashion lovers paradise; it stocks high end labels and the latest 'in’ thing, as well as some really nice and quirky gifts and unusual novelties.
As well as cool tops, jeans and jackets, it has loads of cool accessories, and some select books, music.
It is a great place for picking up a gift that is a bit different and unique, things that you will not find anywhere else on the high street.
Even if you can not always afford to buy anything in here, it is a great place to browse around for an hour or two. The staff are really cool and hip too.

The clothes here are nice, and a bit different from most high street stores….although these slight diferences come with a hefty price tag! (well, its not that bad, but not student friendly prices!)
The lay out and displays are brilliant, very raw and creative.

Urban Outfitters do a great range of clothes for men & women as well as homewear and gifts. The store is nicely fitted out which makes it a great place to take your time and browse. The clothing range is really good, some of it is quite expensive but they have some cheaper options as well. The best bit is the homewear and gifts section, they have some great bits and pieces which are perfect when your looking for presents. They also sell a small selection of cds by lesser known artists which are a little overpriced but are generally brilliant.

The clothes here are gorgeous. The problem is they only go up to about a size 12, much smaller than most shops which is a shame.
The prices are also seriously expensive and although you might find something nice, there are usually better bargains to be had around the city centre. The quality of the clothes also isn’t great, scarves and jumpers I’ve had haven’t lasted too long.
There is a very nice gift section which sells some quite exciting and interesting items. However, I would recommend that you write down the details and search around as you can often find the same things much cheaper either in nearby shops or on the internet.

Before I actually entered this shop I had always sneered a little at it - yes yes I know, more fool me. But on actually being dragged in there by my cousin I was pleasantly surprised.
It is THE place to get jeans and, although some brands are quite pricey, there are others that are pretty damn good value for money.
There is almost always a sale rail where you can grab last minute bargains, and I mean bargains for the sale prices are quite low, and there is always somethng to browse at - particularly downstairs on the ground floor.
So don’t be a snob like me, take a trip there and you will be more tha pleasantly purprised I can assure you.

Great products although a little on the expensive side. Cheap Monday jeans last forever.

Urban outfitters stocks fabulously kitsch clothes for men and women. You definitely won’t have to break the bank to pick up a few key pieces from here, although you may stumble across a designer masterpiece that sets you back a couple of weeks wages. Be prepared to have a fat day as clothes are sized a little on the super skinny size. Recycled vintage pieces, books on burlesque and a bit of Mr Scruff playing in the background are the norm here.

Urban Outfitters is set on Corporation street just up from House of Fraser. It is a brilliant shop selling all sorts from homeware to vintage clothing. An ideal shop if you are looking for something quirky or individual.
Urban Outfitters sells clothes by new and upcoming designers also second hand items, such as vintage jeans and boots. I love rumaging through all the accessories, they always have a huge selection of vintage belts and bags and i can always find something i want to buy. They are quite pricey, i bought a thin vintage belt from them last week and paid about £15 for it ! I probably could have bought it cheaper elsewhere.
Womenswear is on the ground and first floor, menswear is on the top floor. A unique shop, one of my favorites !
