NH Dortmund, Downtown East, Dortmund

Great hotel for business with the separate living and sleeping area, great breakfast too. Only real minus to me is the price of internet at the NH chain

Reasonably cheap, yet reasonably soulless chain hotel that is incredibly handy for Dortmund station. Not the best place to start the industrial heritage trail - I think Essen is a better bet, but everything is so close together here that it doesn’t matter so much.

Dortmund is interesting. You might want to perhaps… avoid it?! (apologies to any residents)

Great when you just want to get off the train and into the hotel. All rooms are small suites and at weekend the check out is 5pm so you can be totally lazy. Breakfast has lots of variety. Town centre and restaurants are close by. On quiet weekends it has really good rates.

To find appropriate accommodation in Dortmund isn't quite so simple. The NH here is - like in other cities - always a good bet. Normally the ambiance being 'better than the others' the NH here also is just ever so slightly less good than elsewhere. It's not the rooms, they were huge and beautifully furnished. Although a bit noisy (mine was facing the road). Breakfast had a bit of canteen atmosphere which is rather unusual for the NH. Yet: If you need to stay in Dortmund overnight and want to be on the safe side -> this is the place for you.

Stayed here when Scotland played Germany. Great location right next to main train station , very central , big rooms we had 3 beds. Staff were great considering how busy hotel was and reasonable price as well.
